I’m 100% sure Virgin has a robust sales and marketing department who are doing their pricing calculations to maximize sales/profits/occupancy. It just becomes more than I’m willing to pay going forward. It was really fun while it lasted. 😎

I’ve loved Virgin Voyages and have one more booked, but I’ve long thought that I’d probably get priced out. That said there’s some Caribbean sailings that aren’t so bad, so maybe for special occasions every now and again.

It actually sounds like that excursion might not have been too bad...I've just had historically bad experiences on organized snorkeling tours.  Did you enjoy it?  Feel like it was worth it for the cost?  What was the group size like?

    thank you!

Really loved it. You’re able to get some clear space. I think there was 20 of us.

Forgive my ignorance regarding cruise lines’ private islands.

my original experience was DCL Castaway Cay, where most of the food and beach activities were free and excursions were add on.

I'm looking at a handful of cruises that stop by “Private Islands” (Half Moon Cay, Princess Cays, Coco Cay.)  And I haven’t even started to look at NCL and MSC offerings.  It seems like close to nothing is free on any of these?  No food anyway. Are the beaches at least no charge?

is Mahogany Bay a Carnival owned beach in Honduras?  Is there a primer anywhere?

    Thank you.

Plenty of free food on coco cay. No doubt RCCL advertises the stuff they charge you for but there’s plenty of free stuff. We snorkeled and that was free.

That is what we have been thinking about the timing. And I thought about  Uluru/Ayers after I posted it.

    Thanks for the input.

No worries. It’s theoretically possible but honestly not worth the stress, if something goes wrong you’d miss your flight and it’s almost certainly with an airline that would not be helpful.

  5. There was some animal life there. I did the shipwreck excursion that you don’t like so I can’t speak much of Bimini. Didn’t have to wear a life vest on that excursion and was never kicked by anyone.

There were lots of rays right by the dock.

  6. I’m a big fan of Brightline. We used it to get from FLL to Miami cruise port. It’s a short Uber to the train station and then even closer to the terminal (you could spit to it in a high wind). If you do first class you get a lounge at the station, drinks and snacks onboard, and a free ride that the cruise terminal is actually in range for (although they sometimes won’t give you a ride there). They might be switching this to an Uber coupon both ways, which honestly is better because you could go beyond the limits and get a discount.

Hi, I'm confused.... new to this... how do you use a referral if the trip is already booked by both sides? Doesnt that mean everyone could just refer each other and get endless loot? thanks.

You can call or chat and give the name and booking number and it will refer. If you booked before the person who you’re saying is referring you it won’t work. We have multiple on our upcoming but if I log in to my account now it’s only giving one batch of credit, that said the app is notoriously wonky.
