So far booking the flights with Uniworld has worked out we got the business class delta direct flights from JFK to Venice roundtrip at a considerable discount then I could have gotten on my own and we have our seat assignments.  Hopefully everything else goes smoothly.

 Your experience sounds wonderful , that's why I love cruise critic so much great information it made planning much easier. I have been to Venice but just for a day and half so I am very excited to have the time to explore in more depth while enjoying the 5 star service of Uniworld. Oh and I am from Long Island also, Huntington.

I just booked Uniworld Venice to Venice for July. Its not a traditional river cruise as it mainly stays in the Venice Lagoon. Very excited to try the Uniworld product, I got the business class upgrade and will be flying direct from NY.  I see you are about to go on an Azamara cruise have fun !

Yes Delta appears to run the flights Spring Summer . I was wondering if anyone has recently used Uniworld air and if they were able to request certain flights.

Thanks but I see that Delta as direct flights from JFK to Venice, not sure if Uniworld has a contract with them.

I am considering Uniworld Gems of Northern Italy with Business Class upgrade. Has anyone recently used Uniworld Air? I am coming from JFK New York and was hoping they would offer direct flights. Thanks

Thanks for the information, I have decided to take the biking excursion offered by the ship I think I will be able to visit a number of beaches:cool: around the island.

Is it easy to get a taxi from the ferry to the beaches and or a beach club where one can rent a sunbed for the day ?

So happy to see your post today as I also just booked the August Barcelona to Rome voyage it will be not only my first Silversea cruise but my first cruise ever..why not start at the top...;) .

I also wanted to thank you for your thoughtful and informative posts on solo cruising after reading many of them I decided to take the plunge and with the package Silversea is offering the time seems right.

I have never cruised before but have taken escorted tours solo. I would like to try a cruise on a smaller ship that is able to go into all ports in the Mediterranean. I am willing to pay the extra to be on a smaller ship. Any suggestions other than silversea and seabourn. Also which is more welcoming to solos.
