We were also on this cruise.
This was our first time on the Island Princess of course it should get better with its upgrades after dry dock.
The Patiserie is nothing compare to the International Cafe.
Missing Alfredo and wines other favorites of mine.
Have to admit if the destroy the Universal Lounge this is a big mistake. I thought that is one of the classiest lounge at see I have seen.
The food was ok nothing special.
The only downside of this cruise was the lack of loungers near the pool area for a half full cruise.

I must admit the Diamond with its for MDR room is really a great concept and with the Osso Buco in Vivaldi room :-)

Hello all,
Even with all the bad critics and review I must admit I love the feeling of the Royal. Yes she does have a few minor mistakes but none are perfect. I must say they also made a nice job when renovated the Grand but because they removed the Skywalker this is no more my Fav.

Hello all,
My brother in law just booked the Epic for the first time and we are looking into dining options and was wondering which restaurant are the MDR ?
Does he have to do online reservations ?
We got him to go the the Taste one night and the Manathan on an other night but besides thise two is there any other free restaurant ?
Sorry for the confusion but cant seem to find the info on NCL site.

The only things that i miss are Skywalkers and the IC, otherwise this is a great ship and easy to get around on.
To me Skywalker is the nicest and coolest club at sea but unfortunately they are removing them all :-(. The IC is great when on ships.

No comparison. Pride will barely feel like a Carnival ship. Everything is in a different place on the ship. Some areas, you are likely never to find on the Pride, while Magic can easily be figured out within 2 days. In other words, Pride has a very confusing layout. But some people enjoy hunting for these hidden places.
Pride has a much better public space to guest ratio, so it'll be less crowded. But it also has a history of being much more sedate than the typical Carnival ship. Not as many activities going on, people keeping more to themselves. Again, some people would prefer this. Magic's waterpark is clearly superior. No ropes course or lunch pasta bar or lanai BBQ or lanai on Pride.
I really love ships like the Magic also, but I really didn't like the ship on my 1 sailing on a ship just like the Pride. It's very appealing to many people; seems to appeal more to a less young crowd & couples looking for peace & quiet. For people looking for a more lively atmosphere, Pride isn't a good choice (typically), while Magic is a great choice.
Have not been on the Magic but you are definitely right about the confusing layout on the Pride as it was the same on the sister ship Miracle.
I must be a good hunter because so far the Miracle has been my favorite Carnival ship.
thanks

Most passengers really love this class of ship, myself included.:) She only holds around 2,000 passengers. There are two dining rooms, one anytime and one traditional. The specialty restaurants are the "Bayou Cafe" and "Sabatini's". There's also a "Crab Shack", held in a roped-off section of the the buffet, in the Horizon Court. There's no nightclub, but the Explorer's lounge features live music and the DJ starts around 11:00 pm. Just like the big ships there's the outdoor movie screen "MUTS", and an indoor swimming pool too.
"On the Bayou" is a special production show that's only held on the Island and Coral Princess. It features a New Orleans theme with costumes, music, etc. It's one of the best productions shows that Princess offers. It's even more fun if you order a mint julep. ;)
Thank you so much will have to go see that show and hum !! maybe try this mint julep :-)
This will be our last cruise as Platinum (15th) so will definitely be celebrating this moment.
I cant wait to see how a ship 20 tons bigger than the Sun Class ship feels with just about the same amount of passengers. Will I prefer this over the Grand Class thas is th ereal question lol :-)

WIll be on the ship Oct 23 for a 4 nighter which means no formal nights as well.

Hey we are doing both 1 day cruises in September and have done 1 already in May and thought it was nice but nothing that great. I agree the food is not as good as longer cruises but its always fun to get together and have a drink or two.
It does see that more people go to the clubs and disco on a 1 day cruise.

Il also have have to say nothing compares to the voyager, freedom or Oasis class of ship that a RCCL has.
In my opinion you can still find a nice WoW factor on some Carnival ships.
If the price is the same I go RCCL if the price is better on CCL I go with them.

I've been on both including the FREEDOM a couple months ago. I would pick the FREEDOM in a heartbeat. The BREEZE felt very overcrowded, there were not enough pools, and the a/c did not work well in public areas. Walking the lounges at night was like heading cattle from one end to another. Service was dismal due to reduced staff and food in the MDR was the worst I've experienced on Carnival.
The FREEDOM with her 2.0 upgrades a couple months ago was a very different experience. I really enjoyed the ship. It didn't feel crowded. Pools & deck space were way better. The a/c worked extremely well. Best of all great food and service all over the ship. FREEDOM was a winner!
After my sailing on BREEZE I was pretty much ready to write off Carnival, but I'm glad I didn't and sailed on FREEDOM. The experience redeemed my faith in the Carnival brand.
FYI I wrote extensive reviews on both cruises complete with a lot of pics. There are on the CC message board but you will have to search for them.
Hi again,
Got to read your review and love them and WoW you picture albums on tumblr are just crazy amazing.
Thanks for sharing.

Hello all,
Has anyone been on both ships ? I like the ones that have been on the Freedom 2.0 as it's a better comparison than before.
This is for November cruise.
Give me your choice and why.

Pour commencer Bonjour Quebec :-)
I have seen pretty good pricing for this cruise in March and was actually thinking of coining a B2B.
In the end how is this cruise line ? I know the ship is a beauty as everyone says that but should we go ahead and book it ?
Thanks for you feed back
Eric
