Hello,

I have been on both ships but never to Alaska so will only talk about the ship aspect.

Miracle has to be my favorite size of ship the Spirit Class. It is so easy to get around and as for me love the décor and the flow of the ship.

The Liberty now That it has all of its 2.0 upgrade has to be a must for you. Eventhough I prefer the layout of the Miracle I must admit with the Upgrade this Liberty ship is unbeatable.

If I book an other Carnival cruise I will only go if it's got the upgrades.

I am also so happy to see Princess build a third ship to this amazing family.

I have been on the Royal and can't wait to try the Regal and then it's future sister.

After being on the royal we did a quick cruise on the Grand and trust me it did not feel them same as the newer ones. I did like the Grand class but the Royal surpassed it.

Yes it does have little things that are negative but in general it has lots more positive.

The Horizon Court/Bistro and the Atrium are just unbeatable compare to the other princess ships. What I could go without is the Water show and Princess live to me both are just ok to see once.

Making a ship look pretty doesn't make it new (specially when you add a couple of hundred cabins while eliminating public space, giving it one of the most horrendous space to passenger ratio in the industry). There's a good reason why Carnival canceled all further "Sunshining" of other ships, and it's not because the Destiny's refurb was a wild success...

 

And while we are at it, let's not forget that Independence also received a refurb in 2013 (without gimmicky name changes). Also Independence is 154,000 tons while Sunshine is 102,000 tons less. That's a lot more ship for your money!

I have not been on these 2 ships but have been on both line and similar ships and both are very very good.

Although the promenade on the RCCL ship are great it actually does nothing to kids. I think the new remodel Sunshine will be very good for your family.

To those you think this ship is old yes it might be but what is wrong with an older ship if it has been updated with todays standards.

Kudos to Carnival to actually update an older ship instead of just scraping it for a new bigger one.

Vacation on a cruise ship is always fun no matter what.

Coming from Montreal it's a long flight to San Juan but it's all worth it. I find especially in the colder month that leaving from there is like you are already on vacation as it is always beautiful.

As for the Valor have not been on it but I am sure it will be great.

I had friends that went on the Sunshine a month ago and said it was the best carnival experience they ever got.

I think the Titanic Re-enactment crowd (they're like civil war re-enactors, but they eat better) tends to eats at 830 and seem to travel only for the crossing.

 

However, as a practical matter, airline fees means that a tux and shoes squeezes out an outfit or two for the wife.

 

Whoever cracks the nut for ship and hold baggage at a reasonable price might bring back more formalwear. Right now it's just too hard to travel "Rick Steves" light on the continent, hopping on and off the trains with minimal baggage, AND have full regalia for shipboard travel. Frankly, dragging all the extra baggage around Europe for a week was a pain anyway.

 

I've got lots of pix and video that I'll post later. You can count compare the tux/suit ratio yourself. An interesting take on the dark suit was a dressy bowtie, saw that some.

So any suit is good does not have to own a black or dark suite right ?

As for the rest I kinda know what to wear but not sure about my amazing light blue suite with white tie and shirt.

We are 4 of us going on this cruise anyone else ?

I am so happy and nervous at the same time as we are book for a Med 7 days cruise on Queen Elizabeth.

We are 2 couples age ranging from 38 to 50 and have been on other lines a few time but never on such a prestigious line like Cunard.

Here are a few inquiries I got for you Cunard fans.

1-I want to plan my days on the ports we visit but have not been able to get the times of arrival or departure of the ship. Why or when will I get to know that ?

2-How is the entertainment and does the ship go dead early ?

3-Is it true men have to wear a jacket at ever dinner or is it ok to have a nice pair of pants and stylish shirt ?

4-How is the dress code on these Med cruise with Cunard as I have done with more mainstream lines and found that people no not dress to fancy. Maybe its because with all this overcharging with the airlines.

5-Any secret you know about Cunard that the line doesn't really tell us ?

Hello all,

First of all it's fun to see you all arriving in port of PV as I am on vacation at my place "Icon Vallarta". I have been here for the past for weeks and have seen the Miracle every week. I love that it now overnight here as it makes it more interesting to discover PV.

I am sorry to here that the cruise ship was not that great as this has to be one of my favourite class of ship in the carnival line.

I still have one more week at my place so hope to see more cruisers in PV.

I also think they should never have people pay for the sanctuary. I personally will never par it should be included in the price but reserve for adults only.

Hello all,

Just off the Royal today and was able to run 5k each day. I found that late afternoon was the best time to go for a jog. The only downfall was that it tends to become windier during that period. I only have a few complaints about that track one is that they should have place the walkers on the outside as it is so true that couple like to walk side by side. The last complaint is the smell OMG sometimes it got really bad but only in one little area.

hi eric and martin,,im gary and my friend john will be on the Royal Jan12-19.John is a diehard canadiens fan,,and im the Bruins fan lol..we have a late sitting at 815pm and looking for some FODs to have dinner with us.We usually like a table of 8 or 10 its more fun. We are getting a major snow storm thursday into friday hope we will be able to dig out by next Friday when we fly to Fort Lauderdale..If you have other dinner plans it will be fun to meet you guys and zellbrad and ken!10 days to go!!!!Happy New Year

We are also book on the Royal for Jan 12th sailing. We are both from Montreal and we have had lots of snow already so far. We are so please to get away for a week of vacation in the sun. We will be traveling with a straight couple as well.
