Hello all,
We will be cruising on January for my birthday and I got to pick which ship to choose.
I don't really care about the itinerary as we have been in the Caribbean so many times.
The price is almost the same. My real and only problem is picking between 3 cruise ship.
NCL Epic: Big ship seems to have lots of entertainment.
Carnival Glory: fun ships and love the 2.0 upgrade.
Royal Princess: brand new ship but heard bad reviews on it.
We have been over 20 cruises but can't seem to decide on this one so if u have
been on all 3 please let me know which one and why.
I will also post this in carnival and princess forum to make it far.
Thank you all already
Sea ya

I have trouble deciding on my January cruise between 3 ships. The price are almost the same and don't really care about the stop as I have done them all. Basically I have trouble crossing between 3 ships but your review might have just gave the lead yo one of the ships :/)
Royal Princess new but heard bad stuff about it and not sure about entertainment.
Carnival Glory older ship but just love the 2.0 upgrades on them.
Ncl Epic looks fun lots to do and love your review.
Thanks

Thanks for the review. We're heading out on the CB this coming Saturday, and it's good to know that all is in order.
Quick question for you. Which night is Italian night in the MDR? We're going to want to schedule dinner in the Crown Grill and Italian night is one dinner in the MDR that we wouldn't mind missing.
Thanks... Bill
Hello Bill,
When you come back can you give us a quick review as well and I would like to know what you will do in ports.

Wow I am almost book for this cruise feb 2nd just looking around to see what to do with the late arrival into Curaçao.
Tell me what did you do in Curaçao ?
Eric
Just off the CB. Had a great cruise. I read a lot of negative reviews here before we left and I really don't get it. The service was outstanding in every way. I think it was probably the best of any cruise I've been on. All the staff was friendly and helpful and our room steward never missed a thing. We had a mini-suite for the first time which was fabulous. The only problem is now we are spoiled and never want to go back to a regular balcony room! We were in room D633 which was a great location towards the back of the ship but right around the corner from the elevators. Our balcony was open and it didn't bother us a bit. And from the inside looking out it was nice to have the openness and be able to see the sky. The first day or two it was a little hot for a few hours in the afternoon with no shade, but other than that we used the balcony a lot. The last two days were sea days and our balcony was shaded the entire day because the sun was in the back of the ship.
I read several reviews that said the ship was hot. I was worried because I tend to be hot when nobody else is, but it wasn't an issue. Whatever the problem was they must have fixed it. Most places were comfortable. It was a little warm sometimes walking by the exploreres lounge where they display all the pictures, and club fusion was freezing, but other than that, very comfortable. Or I should say, I was comfortable. My mom needed a sweater sometimes.
We didn't do a lot of activities. We went to the Unexpected Boys show one evening and it was really good. That's the only show we made it to, in spite of our best plans. Somehow we just preferred our balcony and a good book most of the time. Never even made it to MUTS. They showed a lot of football and concerts. The evening movies I remember are The Dark Knight Rises and The Bourne Legacy. And I think Moonrise Kingdom. I really planned on going for the Dark Knight movie, but then when it was time to go it was so pleasant on the balcony and I really didn't want to move. Oh well, maybe next cruise.
The food was good. Didn't care for Italian night, but that's probably just us. We ate in the dining room every night except the last two. We had anytime dining and always shared a table. It was very enjoyable to meet and chat with fellow cruisers. However, we were always at a table for eight and dinner tended to take two hours, which is why we opted out the last two nights. Food in the Horizon Court was also good and the last two evening at Cafe Caribe were also quite good. No complaints there. There was one night where the line for the dining room was really long, so we left and came back in an hour and were seated immediately. If you are dead set on dining between 7 and 7:30 you will probably have to stand in line.
Overall, a really nice and relaxing cruise, which is just what I needed. Oh - and my mom won $1000 on slot machine on our last evening which was very exciting.
I'm happy to answer any questions.

Did you take the ferry from RedHook ?
Thx
Eric
We just returned from our cruise on Carnival Dream and when in St. Thomas we went to St. John on our own - 2nd trip on our own for us, and we had two other couples join us.We did not arrive in St. Thomas until 11 am and we made the noon ferry and this trip to St. John we opted to take the 2+ hour open safari tour of the island and it was AMAZING!
$25 pp right upon our arrival in St. John and it wound up being just the 6 of us on the tour. We negotiated with our driver to take us to the beach for a while for an additional $6 pp - and he waited for us - well worth the extra $$.
WOW the hills, and steep climbs on St. John are amazing.
We enjoyed our time at the Sugar Ruins and we saw goats on the side of the road feeding and we even saw two mule deer along with all the other fabulous scenery and overlooks.
I would highly recommend taking this tour to give you a taste of the island and learn some of the island facts.
Our ship departed St. Thomas at 7 pm and we opted to take the 4 pm ferry and that got us back in plenty of time.
It was another fabulous day on St. John - anyone wanting to see our photos, click on the link at the end of my signature to view our Carnival Dream cruise album.
Thanks again for all the wonderful information on this thread.

Why so far great pics :-)
Day 1 - Flight from Chicago and ParisMy DH Paul and I had gotten married on a Saturday. It was a fantastic wedding and we had the time of our lives with all of our friends and family. We would have been so sad that it was over but fortunately we had our cruise on the Magic coming to keep us in excitement mode.
Fortunately we did have some down time before we had to head to the airport on the following Wednesday to collect ourselves and pack. Our flight was leaving at 5:30pm and we would be on the redeye to Paris, France.
We decided to fly Air France because they have a great deal where you can stopover in Paris for free for however long you want before connecting to your final destination.
The flight went great. We both got lots of sleep and actually felt okay when we landed at 8:30am Paris time (Which is like 12:13am Chicago time).
