  1. X pricing has gone up exponentially in the last year. Since we made our last booking in February the pricing for the identical cabin/amenities that we booked has increased over $1000 pp and there have been significant cutbacks and extra charges instituted. The cruise is still 7 months out with the ship less than 1/2 sold. This is on an S-class ship in the Caribbean. It has given us reason shop around elsewhere when previously, when booking a cruise we went to X as our go to cruise line.

    Frozen Toasted Almond

    SERVES 1

    1 oz. amaretto liqueur
    1/2 oz. Kahlúa coffee liqueur
1/2 oz. Baileys Original Irish Cream
    1 oz. vanilla ice cream
    1 scoop of ice

    1. Mix all ingredients in a blender. Serve in a tall stemmed glass.

I always ask them to swirl chocolate around the glass. It's yummy...and it's available on the Classic beverage package!

The interesting thing is that it was made in Hong Kong.

I'm thinking that there was no need for repeat purchases, hence no longer available. Thankfully there are lots of similar items (albeit less durable) still around for those who need them.

The last time I cruised I brought magnetic hooks that I thought would work holding various items (purse, beach bag, etc.).  The hooks were not strong enough for anything other than a lanyard, so I positioned them above the wall picture to help secure the hooks in place and problem solved.  Couldn’t enjoy looking at the picture, though (not that I cared).

I always bring a hanging shoe holder that I hang over the outside of the bathroom door.  It is so handy to have everything visible we might need in full view—meds, scissors, paper/pen, sun screen, first aid kit, sticky tape roller, etc, rather than sorting through a drawer for what we want.  If we forgot this item we would be very upset!

The magnetic hooks we use were purchased from Amazon in a set of 4, each rated to hold 50 lbs. They work well for the purposes I mentioned above

  5. We always bring a dual voltage USB multi port hub to charge our devices and an adapter for the European outlet. That way we can charge all of our devices using the European outlet and keep the other outlets free for other use.

Also, we bring 4 strong magnetic hooks (holds up to 50lbs). We put 2 on the back shower wall with a piece of twine to make an easy to pack clothesline. The other 2 we hang on the cabin walls for purses, hats, papers etc.

A full contingent of over the counter meds for all purposes is good to have on hand.

  6. You would get Captains Club points for the category cabin you currently have, but would get access to thermal suites, get a bottle of bubbly on request, access to Blu as your dining room and water replenished as well as pillow menu, thicker robes and slippers, a nice X tote bag, a seapass card holder and an expanded room service menu (unfortunately you'd still have to pay the $9.95+ fee for delivery of anything but continental breakfast).

Wanted to add that if it's refundable, make sure to change your registered card to something that doesn't give you a large rebate percent on travel purchases, because it will show up as a refund and you will be penalized that amount. When I am expecting an OBC refund, I change my registered card to a debit card, so it costs me nothing for the return.

We get unused OBC-R handed back in cash on the last night to avoid that penalty.

Nice.  Do they still have the large golden fluffy ones ?
Wish they would still do it in the Mediterraneum and other itineraries.  We just take them from the pool (and return them of course).

    Yes.

This practice of having beach towels supplied in the cabin stopped years ago.  They might still do it in the Caribbean As we haven t sailed there lately, can t be sure about that, but on all other itineraries we were on since maybe 6-7 years ago, they don t anymore.

They definitely still do it in the Caribbean.

  10. Your cabin steward will leave beach towels in your room the evening before a port visit. If not just go up to the pool deck the day before you need them and take them. You don't need to sign them out.

  11. X tends to be a bit quieter and adult oriented than Royal. None of the X ships even come close to the larger Oasis class ships, the largest holding slightly more than 3000 passengers. The food tends to be better, but with recent post-Covid cutbacks the differences seem to be narrowing. Royal offers more varieties of activities for families travelling with children than does X.  You will not find water slides, bumper cars, wave pools etc. on X.  The shows, especially on Royal are more varied with venues like the aqua theaters etc. X has 2 or 3 cast production shows per cruise depending on the length of the cruise and the rest are visiting entertainers. X doesn't require passengers to make reservation for their shows which generally have 2  showtimes per night to accommodate both early and late diners. Select dining is what X calls its Anytime Dining, but the concept is the same.

Probably means nothing.  Mine always say pending, and since I bid for Royal Suites, they always get rejected.

We rarely bid because we like to choose our cabins, but our last bid several cruises ago from prime verandah to Aqua was "Pending" until two days before the cruise and accepted. We didn't receive notice until the day before boarding after we'd already left home. We saw it appear on our cc before it appeared on the website or app and didn't receive an accepted email.

  13. If you've already used all you can and fully rewarded deserving crew members and it's OBCR they will refund it back to your credit card as stated above OR hand it back to you in cash the last night of the cruise. If it's not the refundable type and I'm sailing with you I'll be very happy to help you spend it. DH says I'm excellent at spending money!🤣

My Summit cruise leaves this Sunday 7/23 and all 3 of my offers (celebrity suite, sky suite and ultra deluxe veranda) are still showing “pending” when I go into the original email and follow the links to update my offers. It appears that I can still update my offers as well.  Does this really mean all 3 are still pending at this short of a time before sailing or is there another more updated link?  I’ve already printed out our luggage tags for our obstructed veranda so I’m cool with that, however it would be nice to know soon if that’s changing.  Anyone ever get an accepted offer a few days before sailing or is it generally earlier that you know the status?

Our offer was accepted 3 days before embarkation.

    Yes cookies deleted.

The odd thing, to me, is that it happens when using the computers in the ILounges on the ships.  Always get the pop up box that there is no internet connection and only when I am trying to access “my tier and points”. No other part of the website.  And once it appears, I’m stuck.  Can’t access anything else in the Celebrity site until I close down the site and re-open it.

On one ship, one of the iLounge staff even had me use his own personal l Pad, with some sort of secure connection he had that was different than what all the ilounge machines had.  Happened there too.  Same error message that there was no internet connection detected when trying to access My Tier and Points.

When you're on board you should be able to see your points in the app if you click on the person icon at the top of the page. It will take you to a page showing your cruise and at the very top it will say your name, Captains Club level and points total.

It makes no difference … the issue appears even with an igconito window but thanks for the suggestion

That's so odd. I always have problems if I log into the site without an Incognito, but never with one. I'm sorry you're having problems. I guess you've tried deleting your cookies?

Does anyone have a way to contact someone who can fix a website issue? Email or phone?

This happened for about two years, and every time I was on a cruise I would talk to the IT people on board who tried to report it to Shoreside IT and finally it was fixed for about six months but now it’s back again.

When I log into my account and go to the Captains Club tiers and points section, I get a pop-up that says there is no Internet connection, try again. And then I can’t get out of that portion of the website to go anywhere else. I have to go out of the website and start over.

This happens no matter whether I am on one of my devices, or one of the Celebrity machines in the I Lounge.  It doesn’t matter which device I am on, the same pop-up message box appears.

So I would like to try to get it resolved again and if anyone knows how to get ahold of the website people, I’d sure appreciate it.

Use an InPrivate or Incognito window to acces rhe X site always!

During our last cruise in Oct/Nov which was on board Constellation, I found a 3-prong, surge-protected power strip installed inside a cabinet underneath our stateroom television.  It was put there because there was only one outlet available inside the cabinet while two outlets were needed--one for the TV and one for a component that worked with the TV.  It had the words "AV Dept" hand written on it in black Sharpie.
