Please don't take away my chocolate covered strawberries. I have waited 12 years and spent thousands of dollars to finally get my plate of strawberries.

Just spent a wonderful weekend with my 4 grandchildren aged 1,3,5 and 7. thoroughly enjoyed their energy and boisterousness. Would I take them to the steak house no. Sorry, but I am still old fashioned enough to believe that there are places that children don't belong.
Last cruise DH were celebrating out 36th anniversary at the steakhouse. Food, service and atmosphere were great. I highly doubt it would be as nice if a lot of kids were present. Sorry, just my opinion.

On our last cruise out of Galveston we waited in the non American line during debarcation. The line was very long. We are Canadian, but have seldom met fellow Canadians onboard. Curious to know though how many would be onboard.

Or play by the rules...just saying...

Shhh! I don't want word to get out about these rooms. We had one on the Valor and were planning it again, but they swapped ships on us. Now we have one booked on the Glory, keeping our fingers crossed that they won't swap ships again.
Seriously, anyone who is considering one, we have been in everything from a 1a interior to a grand suite and these rooms are by far our favorite. Enjoy everyone who manages to snag one.

For me there can be stress involved in getting to the cruise with flying etc, but on the cruise, total relaxation. I find it usually takes us a day or two to find our cruise rhythm, but once we settle in, we block out the rest of the world and just enjoy being spoiled and having no responsibilities for 1 or 2 whole weeks.

Ok you guys quit giving the big guys ideas. We all have things we would probably be willing to give up, but all of those things together make carnival what it is today. Personally although there are things I could live without, when I step on to a carnival ship I enjoy the familiarity of the combination of all the things that make up carnival. Let's not mess with "perfection" , ok so far from perfection, still I enjoy the ships as they are today and am disappointed when cuts are made even if it is going to save me a few dollars.

I believe many people today have very little consideration for other people's personal space. I tried to raise my children that in public our conversations do not need to be heard by those we are not speaking to. Whether we are fighting or laughing and having a good time, unless it is in a place where others would be expecting to join in, we try to keep our conversations respectful of other people.
Thankfully we have never had any major problems from other cruisers on our balcony. Oh by the way a proud Canadian here.

Oh no we have another addict. Sorry there is no cure, but the treatment is pretty enjoyable. Just keep booking cruises.

Thanks for the response. I was just thinking though that it might disappear before our next cruise as we are sailing about a month after her next drydock.

Does the Glory still have a whirlpool in the spa are?

1 Year from today we will be waking up in Miami anxiously awaiting boarding the Glory.

Can anyone confirm that Canadians are not eligible for this. What if you are Canadian but flying to a US airport and driving home?

We did the excursion several years ago and really enjoyed it. Not too many gators up our way. Ever since watching flipper as a child it has been on my bucket list. No regrets and a great way to pass time before a flight.

We did manage to snag a good price drop once. It was 3 in the morning and I was on my way out the door to work. As was my habit I stopped by my computer to check for a price drop and lo and behold I scored a great one.
I would guess that whoever had the opposite cabin either cancelled or upgraded to a balcony, either way we benefited. So now we are watching closely for a price drop on our upcoming 6k.

We had this room on the Valor and have it booked on the Glory for next spring. For the money we feel it is the best room on the ship.

Never dreamed when we booked our 1st cruise that we would so easily become afflicted with the disease. Just a word of warning. Some have suggested b2b's help to make the illness more cost effective. Problem is b2b's are an addiction all onto themselves. Also hanging out here will only make the illness worse.

We only went once and yes they did seem to eliminate the profanity, I found the subject matter to not be kid friendly at all. I am glad I didn't take young children, and wouldn't recomment it.

Yes I do believe there was some head banging. Another sweet thing about this room is that in the rain you feel like you are at the cottage in a storm with the rain on the window. I don't know, but to me it just made the room seem cozy. Oh, and I have already called dibs on the chaise lounger.

Thankyou so much for doing this review. We are doing a b2b on the Glory next year and have the same room. We also stayed in the same room on the Valor doing a b2b out of San Juan in 2013. Love the pictures.

I love coming back to a cozied room in the evening. I expect if everyone took the time to keep their room relatively tidy that stewards would have a much easier time getting their work done.
I am shocked sometimes when I walk by some rooms at the mess the stewards have to clean around. Stewards are paid to clean your room not pick up after you.

Clean your house top to bottom. Great to come back to a clean house and will definitely help you pass the time. Oh and crank up some Caribbean music to play while you are doing it.

Though not a common thing anymore, we take travellers cheques. We turn them in to cash at guest services. Never have used a debit or credit card in 10 cruises. We do take a credit card for emergency money, but have never had to use it.
-
I put a little away each pay before we cruise.' Some goes into a Canadian savings account and some into an American account. We use the Canadian account to transfer funds to our credit card to pay for flights, hotels etc. We take our US funds and convert most to travelers cheques. I wouldn't want the uncertainty of not knowing how much US currency I could buy until after I arrived south.

I vote for a 10 day Caribbean cruise from boston. We might just be able to pull that off once a year. Airfare is a killer these days.
