  1. You all may very well be right that now that they scan sail and sign cards that you can't get away with skipping, but I will tell you that more than once we were told by our room steward when we were doing a b2b. That we could lay low and skip the muster drill since we were in the same cabin. Once was just this spring on the Glory.

  2. If you 've to switch cabins I would suggest taking some plastic grocery bags or collect some through the week. Use them to pack things together that go together on shelves or in drawers etc. This way when you unpack everything will be very easy to put away. It's not so hard as packing to travel where you have to be so careful where you put everything. Whenever you decide I know you will have a great cruise. We did this as a b2b in 2013. Perhaps the best cruise we ever took.

  3. Ok so I don't really pack till a week or two before we leave. That being said I start the process months earlier. Tuck away shampoo, a new pair of shorts, the latest book in the series I read etc. Months in advance. For me packing and organizing for a cruise is a lot of fun.

We always book many month in advance so my spare room is cruise central most of the time. Unfortunately right now a family member has moved in for several months so my own bedroom looks like a bomb hit it. We cruise in 25 days though, so it is all good.

  4. Ok so at first I thought big deal wait a couple of minutes and a table will open up. Then. I thought about my daughter who has 4 soon to be 5 children. I know they would never take a cruise, but if they did, can you imagine standing holding meals while waiting for a table because someone has chosen there to play cards. So, I guess my final opinion is move the card game elsewhere. Someone may truly need the table.

  5. We are also turning platinum in April this year. I know many people complain about the lack of so called quality perks, but I say anything is something we didn't have before. We are most looking forward to the priority tender as we have three tender ports. Have a great cruise.

  6. There was a thread similar to this before which I really enjoyed. On it I mentioned on the last evening of a cruise I fell and broke my arm. In all the stress of the next morning as we were disembarked by ambulance we missed picking up our cheque with our leftover money from our sail and sigh.

Our room steward took the time on a very busy day for them to track us down and deliver it to us. Obviously they weren't doing it for the tip as we had already left our room. This was a very kind gesture that will never be forgotten.

  7. Try to step back and take a breath. As someone else said they are not slighting you by not speaking to you. They are simply following their protocol by speaking to your TA when that is who you booked with. If your TA has not been contacted by Carnival then your TA needs yo contact them.

As far as the change of ships is concerned, just relax. Same ship just different decor. Have sailed on both and could not choose one over the other.

I can tell you from experience that cruising is more complex than an AI and we have not cruised without some hiccups but it has been worth every minute. I assure you cruising is wonderful and well worth this minor issue.

  8. Sadly we.were booked in one of those 6ks back in 2015 when they made the Valor to liberty switch. We ended up getting upgraded to a Lido balcony. Definitely not an upgrade in our minds. But then when we did sail we were part of the cruise that had the engine fire. All in all that cruise did not work out as planned. Yet somehow here we are booked on another b2b in another 6k for next spring. Somehow when you have an addiction nothing seems to keep you from cruising.
