Brother in law refuses to use medallion app
spookyfudge replied to debster11's topic in Princess Cruises
He is correct, they know all the time where you are. Some spouses have gotten in trouble using the princess app finding their other in somebodies else cabin. You can see the stories on the site to find how they cought cheaters! -
We attended the show, multiple type of acts. Marksmanship, contorsionist, sing/dance, roller skating. I thought it was a great show. Had the chicken and it was ok to eat.

Not choosing Princess for next cruise…..
spookyfudge replied to dandonna's topic in Princess Cruises
Yup I go on a cruise to enjoy the ship, shows and food not to get blind drunk! Good for you having 15 a day. -
Tipping to get better table in Dining Rooms
spookyfudge replied to garycarla's topic in Virgin Voyages
If you are a rockstar you will get the best table at the window. They are normally reserved for them, so no worries on our cruise as a rockstar -

You need to define "conservative", there are many colors as seen in a rainbow. What is your definition? -
Not choosing Princess for next cruise…..
spookyfudge replied to dandonna's topic in Princess Cruises
The drinks I paid was between $5 and $14. We did buy champagne. So for our 8-day cruise I put $300 on my bar tab and they kicked in an extra $100. I did not need to put money in the account for my passanger but it came out of my bar tab. I bought a bottle for a group of four of us and on the last night we spent $115 for a bottle of champagne and had $3 dollarls left on my tab. I had as much alchoal I wanted on this cruise. So for $300 for two of us, vs $800 we would have spent on the "plus" package, (2X$50X8 days) we came ahead. We also had unlimited deserts (considered specialty on Princess) and it included WIFI and all crew tips plus all specialty restraunts (included in price). I think Princess would have bee a lot more for us since we maybe have 5-drinks a day! -
Not choosing Princess for next cruise…..
spookyfudge replied to dandonna's topic in Princess Cruises
Yes we thought that also, but remember the price includes the tips and port fees and they give everyone free internet which worked great on the lowest speed so I could facetime everyday. Also all their restraunts are like specialty dinning with no extra cost. The entertainment was top notch but you must book all your events once you get on the ship. They also work drinks differently, they use a bar tab and you can buy a drink for anyone using your bar tab so no need to buy a drink package. -
Not choosing Princess for next cruise…..

We just got off the Valient Lady as part of the Virgin Voyages fleet. We probably will no longer be doing a princess cruise again even though we have done about 10 with them and they were our only cruise line. The Virgin Voyages food puts the food to shame on Princess. They have a no charge steak house (Wake) that is superior to Princess. The restraunts are not large room eating areas but small rooms that you make a reservation. The staff on Virgin are very happy and in turn treat the sailor well! The prices are lower also, how do they do it? Free internet for all and no gratuities? See ya -
We just completed a B2B, when booking a cruise, contact sailor services to get the same room, if not you may need to backup at the end of the first cruise. You will be given a sheet of paper to meet at a specfic time on the boat to go through customs at a specific time. You must be present to go as a group. You get a new specfic armband that allows you to return immeditaly to the ship or you can go off and explore Miami. We returned to the ship and enjoyed the quite.

Passport required to sail Virgin Voyages
spookyfudge replied to angela12345's topic in Virgin Voyages
You realize both you and your husband can go to the local passport station to get it that same day. You must be present and must have a valid reason to get it on the same day. You must wait for it to be issued to you so contact your local office and go in person. There is an expedation fee I think additianal $300 pp. -
We were on her in December, food quality ok, not like pre-Covid. I am surprised at the quality of the food now. We are trying a Virgin Voyages cruise because we are told they have great food! I will let you know.

Your daughter may want her own room, there are many singles on the ship and she might want to have her own room.

E-Z Air (Some Flights May not be in your Requested Class)
spookyfudge replied to Dede F's topic in Princess Cruises
Yes we are going to Austrialia this year and we got business class for the two 14-hour segments, Sydney to Doha to East Coast. It was worth the 10K for two tickets so we can get a cube in BC and stretch out! No way we would fly econmy on such a flight -
Thanks for your report. We had orginally booked and paid for the WC over a year ago but got cold feet for such a long cruise with the dreeded "C" virus out there. Even though we got medijet to get us home from anywear in the world if sick, we just felt to uncofortable to do 111-days! Have fun and good sailing

Yup couldnt put more money on my trip

Dont do it

Internet: Unlimited, but Unusable. Is this unique?
spookyfudge replied to sirclean's topic in Princess Cruises
We lost internet the last three days of our transatlantic cruise, could not check in for our flights, You can not count on the internet if you plan to work from the ship. -
You have an issue, you need to make sure it matches the passport name, not the drivers license for overseas travel

Princess vs. Virgin Voyages Round 1: Pre-Cruise Experience
spookyfudge replied to CineGraphic's topic in Princess Cruises
Yes the Princess knifes are out for you, I can not believe how much cheaper it is than a princess cruise and as far as dress code, good riddens I can forget the suit. If you look on youtube you can see all the great food is and what I see the mid age is about 45 ish. Can not wait to go and just relax on the ship! -
Princess vs. Virgin Voyages Round 1: Pre-Cruise Experience
spookyfudge replied to CineGraphic's topic in Princess Cruises
I agree with you, our January cruise was not that great even though we were in a mini-with the special dinning option. We just booked two back to back cruises with Virgin (6-day) for a total price of $1600 for two out of miami and $2100 for an 8-day [includes tips, internet, tax and port fees] out of Miami (B2B) same cabin center balcony. I can not believe how much less this is over our princess bookings. We see that the food is much better, and if this works out we may be sailing only on Virgin Voyages in the future. Thanks for the heads up on the match that will come in great. -
