Unfortunately, the points only apply to your cabin catagory, prior to the RoyalUp!

OK, wasn't sure. I guess it doesn't matter much, since we are usually on Celebrity. Our status there will always be higher, so we'll just have to get the match. It's just fun to see the points add up. lol

Celebrity does give bonus points for upgrading though. Although, now that I think about it, we upgraded at guest services, not through the official bid program. Maybe that's why we got it.

I just bid on the same upgrades from a JR Suite. Curious, what were your winning bids?

I know the bid for the JS was only $250/person. I need to find out about the Royal Loft bid. I know it was a very good bid, high chance of receiving upgrade.

Anybody know if the upgrade from large balcony to JS will now qualify for double. points?

    Thank you.

They're cancelling at the last minute because of "staffing" issues i.e. their fault, and its too late for me to book anything else for that week. Its hard to get off work for vacation, and im locked out of everything. They won't even let me rebook on another royal ship that week, they're saying I have to pay new money. They should offer a certificate for a discount on a future cruise or something to show they care... but just leaving me in a lurch with nothing? why continue to book with them? am I missing something?

Book another cruise with your credit card for that week. Your refund will be credited shortly thereafter. Seems easy enough. Sorry about the situation though, it would suck to be canceled on, but I think it's pretty much out of their hands at this point. It's crazy out there.

Wow!  That’s awesome you snagged a Royal and a Jr!  AND you were notified this far in advance!!// Jackpot!  We were hoping to go from Crown Loft to Star Loft or Aqua 2 br.  Still pending on both, but I’m guessing we’re out of the running.  Enjoy your cruise in your fancy new digs!!😆

Yes, pretty cool! Are you on our sailing (Jan 16, Harmony)?

We're sailing on the Harmony on 1/16.  No plans to cancel unless positive COVID.  But we're boosted and have avoided it thus far.  No plans on going anywhere near crowds.  Work is relatively safe as I have an office and few come there but 3 co-workers on occassion.

We’re on this cruise too. We have a large group, and everybody is still gung ho! Problem though, we tested positive, caught it on Xmas day. We’re both pretty much fully recovered now. So with 3 vaccines, plus recently having COVID, we should be golden…I hope!

  6. We just returned from a 7 day Alaska cruise on Celebrity Millennium. It was great.

We’re doing a Halloween cruise on the Carnival Miracle with friends in a couple weeks. Sails from our home port, so sometimes fun to get away for a booze cruise.

‘Sailing on Harmony of the Seas on Jan 16th, 2022 for 7 nights in the Caribbean.

Finally, doing Edge Greek Islands cruise out of Rome on Sep 3rd, 2022.

So happy we can cruise again!

Did you opt in for only once a day service from your cabin steward? I think that is a one day bonus in points.

No. We weren’t given this option.

Wow I'm surprised to hear you received the free cruise offer with only 140 points.  Were you a prime member before this cruise?

I think it’s due to the pandemic. They’re doing a lot more than normal to get people on their ships. I’m getting free cruise offers every month and I barely gamble.

I have two upcoming cruises in 2022, each one has $800/OBC and no indication of any restrictions.  I have booked both shore ex and specialty dining with some of it already and all are currently in my planner.

Oh nice, I’ll look in my planner and see if I can tell. Did they specifically tell you you’re getting a credit for excursions too?

  10. We sailed Millennium in September to Alaska. We only had about 600+ passengers, so the service was the best ever and everybody was ecstatic to be back onboard. It felt very safe. Was nervous a time or two, but we had no issues.

Book it and enjoy! We have 3 more planned in the next 11 months. Can’t wait!

I was just on the Edge and asked that very same question with Future Cruises. Apparently as of last week, my celebrity agent went thru all the small  print and came up with, "It really doesn't say what the split is.  My cruise I just finished  was all OBC.  I did do a future with more OBC but don't know if I also have excursion credit too.  I know not a great answer, but I don't think even Celebrity knows the answer ,

Thanks for taking the time to answer. Any details help. 😉

  12. We booked a sky suite on Edge in the Med for next year. The details show an onboard credit and shore excursion credit. I didn’t see any details on how much for each. I know the total credit is for $850 though. I was hoping all $850 would be available for either of the two, in case we don’t do any of their excursions. Is that not the case?

I think the breakdown of credit was $300, $300, and $250. My guess is the $250 is for shore excursions…but rather use for regular onboard credit.

    Any ideas or past experience?

I was under the impression you only got CC points associated with your originally booked category rather than those associated with the category you were upgraded to though bidding. Has that changed?

We just got back from Alaska. We upgraded from Concierge to a Sky Suite onboard through Guest Services. For 7 nights, we earned 40 points each. I don’t get how that was calculated, but definitely more points than we would’ve received in our original room.

We loved it.  We only saw the magic carpet go by our a room a few times and it was fun to watch.  The view was not obstructed.  We have this same cabin booked on the Apex.  It saves us a few dollars for the suites. Hope you love it as well.

Great, thank you for the information!
