  1. I bet they'll find the problem to be a lot less once they stop paying for quarantine expenses.
  2. And certainly using a TA isn't for everyone.
  3. The value in a good TA isn't the booking perks.
  4. Correction 25/7/22: this article originally estimated BA.2 had an R0 of about 13.3 and BA.4/5 had an R0 of 18.6, similar to measles, our most infectious viral disease. However these are likely to be overestimates, as the calculations didn’t take into account immune escape. These estimates and the reference to measles have now been removed.
  5. https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2869224-no-more-pre-cruise-testing-for-vaccinated-guests-on-voyages-less-than-6-nights-starting-august-8th/
  6. It's a private "island". RC isn't going to make people test to go there and Haiti has no leverage to require it.
  7. So with Jason Liberty saying that the testing mandate for the longer cruises will go away soon too, then this interim one is definitely just to not make the CDC mad in making too many changes too fast.
  8. Omicron hits you pretty quick. You could legit test negative 2 days prior, be exposed that day and be symptomatic when you board the cruise. I suspect the 5 night cutoff is much more bureaucratic and political than actually medically founded.
  9. What this says is the ramifications of not testing will only be seen on cruises 6+ nights.
  10. It's not better than nothing when you're likely to piss off your loyal big spender cruisers by establishing policy that caters to the one-off weekender crowd.
  11. It's a completely random number pulled out of thin air. But hopefully pulled out of thin air as not to upset the CDC.
  12. One can only hope that's just Phase 1 of a ramp down of testing. Otherwise that's a joke and I'm sure they'll get plenty of negative feedback
  13. It's not due to the medicine, but just easier on your skin. Keep putting the patch on the same spot, it can irritate the skin.
  14. The USA itself was never a British colony like Canada, New Zealand and Australia were
  15. After the first 2 cruises with the new system (and not taking enough $1s for tips) I started writing own the counts for each day to know how many $1s to bring next time. Last two cruises we've had more than enough.
  16. Good to know that for as messed up as the USA is with covid policy, the former British colonies are even more messed up.
  17. I could see this change and timeline happening. Though I bet the keep testing for all unvaccinated passengers as long as there's a vaccine mandate.
  18. If you put another one on, put it on the other side of your neck.
