  1. Yes, and that's how it was explained in the dining package terms. That's why I am asking why I get the menus posted above when I download a sample Sushi on Five menu from the cruise planner. There is no a la carte menu, just the two prix fixe menus. It appears there is currently no change on the ships, as people have mentioned. So is it maybe an upcoming change in 2024?
  2. I bought the Unlimited Specialty Dining Package, which says it's a good credit of up to $50 (for sailings in 2024). If what you're saying is true, then the terms didn't mention I would only get a limited menu to select from.
  3. When I download the Sushi on Five menu for my June 9 Celebrity Eclipse cruise, the menu is $30 for lunch and $45 for dinner. However, everywhere else on the site still indicates it is an a la carte restaurant. Has there been (or will there be) a change? Or are they simply offering a prix fixe menu alongside the a la carte menu?
  4. I haven't been on the Getaway yet, but sailed twice on her twin sister, the Breakaway. And yes, in bad weather, those indoor areas on decks 6, 7 and 8 get very crowded.
  5. Try calling. I was in the same situation with online booking, but was able to book it over the phone when I tried this morning.
  6. Just to follow up on this: I was still getting the same notices with online booking, but when I called today they were able to book it over the phone. So I'm in with the Black Friday sale price.
  7. It's listed as an offer for my June 9 Eclipse cruise, but when I order it I get the "We're stuffed!" rejection notice.
  8. I was waiting for 90 minutes this morning before giving up. Called back this afternoon and got through in about six minutes.
  9. Yes, a $100 bid will cost you $200 if accepted. This is the same whether the cabin has 1, 2 or 4 people.
  10. For my Getaway cruise, the new solo inside cabins are either on deck 5 directly under the atrium, or the very front of deck 8. So it would seem they are "ideal for the solo traveller" in the sense that "Only one cruiser will be disappointed with their cabin location, instead of two."
  11. While there is no difference on the menus between the three restaurants, the Manhattan Room is larger and can therefore be a little louder. My wife and I generally prefer dining in the other rooms. That said, I wouldn't exactly describe Savor or Taste as an intimate experience either.
  12. He didn't say it, but it is a rather key piece of information he conveniently left out. Complaining on October 21 about a lower price for a cruise leaving on October 25. 🙄
  13. Has anyone been to Bermuda in winter on a one-day port call on NCL and can confirm whether or not the free ferry runs? I know the Orange Line (the paid ferry) does not run to St George's over the winter.
  14. Seems like most cruisers do the buffet and lunch and MDR for dinner on Embarkation Day, and both seem more crowded than any other time. Celebrity actually offers a decent discount (35%?) if you prebook a specialty dinner the first night.
  15. Adding a new elevator bank probably isn't practical, but switching to a destination dispatch system (selecting your floor instead of the up/down buttons, and going to a designated car) would make the elevators a lot more efficient, putting an end to those trips that stop an every floor.
  16. NCL kind of brings it on themselves by proclaiming "Free At Sea" and then your free drinks cost $30/day in gratuities, your free specialty dinner doesn't cover the 20% tip, you free shore excursion is only $50 off and only for one person in the cabin. Got a free cruise from your land casino? It doesn't cover the port fees, plus there's a $20 per person per night administrative fee. (Not the daily service charge, that's something else.) Agree with others that most of the charges not unique to NCL, but they're the ones plastering "Free" all over their marketing.
  17. At risk of turning this into yet another tipping thread, I think this is the answer to the OP's concerns.
  18. It's been five years since the last post. Neither Priceline nor Hotwire have bids anymore. It's time to unpin this thread.
  19. Another factor to consider is children. If they bother you around the pool deck and/or you're cruising during school holidays, an adults-only refuge can be the difference between a relaxing cruise and a constant headache.
  20. The Vibe's pluses 1) Much faster bar service 2) No children 3) Chair hogs are a non-factor 4) Almost always room in the hot tub The Vibe's cons 1) It costs more For my wife and I, it's been a must-buy every time (except when we had Haven). Despite the Beach Club name, it's much more chill than the pool deck. All that said, my next cruise sailing out of New York in February, I'm trying the spa instead.
  21. Then tell us the facts. Don't berate people for speculating when you have deliberately withheld the information! Or are these Schrodinger's Facts: You simultaneously know and don't know them?
  22. NCL has removed the Spa Balcony / Spa Balcony Suite designations as of yesterday.
  23. Thanks for the memories.I was on this cruise too and our team (Drink Package) won trivia a couple of times, but I'm guessing it was while you were ashore. Sorry I didn't get a chance to meet you onboard. I do agree that Luca was a great trivia host.
  24. There is apparently Dockyard-wide WiFi for a fee. https://www.dockyard.bm/dockyard/visit/#wifi Does anyone know if these plans can be split up over multiple days? For instance, if I buy 4 hours, is it four consecutive hours or can I use two on Wednesday and two on Friday?
  25. One not-so-obvious spot selling rum cakes (we found on our December cruise)... Oleander Cycles, a scooter rental store. A couple of doors down from the pharmacy.
