  1. RC did the right thing on this one. Going to Cabo is not the same at all as to what's going on around Puerto Vallarta. All of Mexico is not the same as to what's happening in this area right now.

I can't believe people are angry they won't be getting to go to a town that's got cartels fighting over the past few days. RCCL should give them wifi for a few minutes to google or see the news over the past few days.

The US and Canadian Governments are requesting no "non-essential" travel, I'd consider a cruise docking and excursions non-essential when lives and safety are at stake. RCCL was so right to listen to the travel warnings.

Canadian and American visitors to Mexico are being told to be on alert in the country's popular Puerto Vallarta and Guadalajara areas, where violence between drug cartels and police has intensified in recent days.

The Embassy of Canada in Mexico has issued a warning advising Canadian travellers to "limit their movements" in the state of Jalisco, on Mexico's west coast. "Narco-blockades have been affecting areas in and around Puerto Vallarta and Guadalajara," the embassy said in a Facebook post.

Canadians in Jalisco are being told to remain vigilant and stay in touch with their emergency contacts in Canada. "Local authorities have advised to remain at home," the embassy said. "Avoid demonstrations and large gatherings."

The U.S. embassy in Mexico has issued a similar warning to its citizens.

At least nine people were killed in cartel-related violence in Jalisco on Friday, Mexican security officials said. Banks and gas stations were burned, and cartel members forced a military helicopter down using a rocket-propelled grenade.

  2. 3 day is a lot different than 7 day with many ports. Especially when you have different activities. Siders wouldn't help any men in my family who like to hit the gym, the basketball court, beach excursions sometimes needed water shoes and flip flops. Comfy walking shoes for shopping/touring/walking around and then formal shoes.

It's understandable when more than one shoe at size 13 would take more space for a week long trip.

  3. The end of the zipline isn't far from the ship, it's right by the food pavilion where they have the buffet. The platform you end at is a bit high up, with sand around it, they wouldn't let anyone stand on that because people are coming in at a quick speed.

But there's the path right by the platform with covered seating with the red roofs and the path where you come down from the platform is right there so she'd be able to see land and I think that would be ok with the scooter.

You could kind of see it on the map.

The boat/pier is on the left and then the red covered buildings and that long diagonal blue line over the water is the zipline, that starts from the red circle.

  4. 5 between you doesn't seem excessive. I've taken 3 just myself before. We usually end up with 2 bags per person.

The big bags and if you want carryon they take curbside and never had problems with getting them to the cabin.

It's typical airport like scanners. Never had an problems with security.

  5. I was wondering that too and looked at the deck plan. They're cabana suites that are near the Havana pool, on the side but not directly in front of them. I like the idea, it even has door access so you can leave your terrace out the back and go and come to the pool/bar.

  6. We had a nice day despite the weather. And the window that sells day passes was open and people were buying them in-spite of the rain.

It was I believe $110 pp or something around thst at atlantis. Ships excursion was $163 i believe? Do not quote me on the prices.

Glad you had a great day despite the weather.

I think the whole Atlantis no more public passes is something that excludes day visitors on Cruises. If you show your seapass from what ever ship they still sell you a pass, but if you're staying at Sandals or BahaMar they won't. They want those people to stay at Atlantis.
