  1. Yes, I remember that norlander bread! It is very substantial, and I liked it.

I only remember it being on the main breakfast buffet though, but that also brings back a fond memory of there being guava jelly there too. Norlander bread with guava jelly, another of my faves.:)

Hmmm......guess I am going to have to look for it on the Miracle in February! ;) :D

  2. thats what i had heard.. we are pretty excited. contrary to what i have heard alot of people say, we spend alot of time out there... and for alaska, it will be perfect.. sailed ruby princess last year, and had a regular balcony cabin... never again... literally couldnt move the chairs around it was so tight.. and there were only 2!

Would you like a link to photos of 4237 on the Miracle - from when we sailed in 2011??

  3. YES. Absolutely fantastic room(s) and balcony. We have done the starboard side one deck 4 on the Legend. I so wish they would add these to the Vista. The ones on 4 are the BEST.

Absolutely!! We LOVE all of the aft wraps - but....deck four on the Spirit Class are far and away the very, very BEST!! ;)

  4. Not a fan of regular breakfasts, but I did like the brunch foods. If I'm eating on the lido deck, I usually will just get a plate of fruit or something. If I eat in the MDR, I usually get eggs Benedict than swear I'm never going to eat them again cause I'm always disappointed, and then seem to forget and order them again the next day, lol.

We had the same problem. HATE that browned, hard, often scorched, hollandaise sauce. Not to mention the over cooked eggs.

    Here is what we do....

Try ordering them with the hollandaise on the side - and/or with the eggs over easy instead of poached. Anything that will make them have to be prepared for you - when your order is placed. ;)

  5. It really is a safety issue and I hope you will consider other options on your next cruise. I don't think your fellow pax would consider it convenient should your steamer cause a short in the electrical system or start a fire leaving them stranded at sea or worse. Not flaming you, just pointing out that irons, steamers, candles, etc. are banned for a reason.

No argument...banned is banned! But seriously how is a steamer more dangerous that a flat iron.

  6. You will get a coupon in your cabin. Present it when ordering. It's good for any beverage up to a certain dollar amount - alcoholic or non alcoholic.

Absolutely! Some in our party did mimosas and bloody mary's and other did cappuccino - all were covered with the coupons. ;) :D

  7. Right now we're debating between a premium vista balcony and an ocean suite. The difference in price isn't that much. My only concern is the promenade on deck 5 if we get an ocean suite. I saw a video review of cabin 7377 and the person could see right down to Fat Jimmy's BBQ. Since this is a midship ocean suite, I wonder if the forward suites would be more private from below? Also how is the privacy from above, can others look down onto our balcony?

Would the premium vista balcony be more private overall?

    Thanks for your help.

We had the same feeling when we were in an OS on the Dream (7370) and felt like we were in the hot tub that was on the promenade right below us. We could hear every conversation .

We have also done the Breeze twice in the aft wrap 6501 and much prefer that location for privacy - and you can not beat that balcony!! ;) :D

Here is a link to photos of 6501 that I have out on fb. You can view the photos - even if you do not have a fb account.

  8. Let me reiterate, these people are barely able to even go so in THEIR minds the cost of insurance was a waste. And I might add they took little if any help /information i gave them. But. . . . .they were able to have someone take them to Louisville last night at ten. It's less than two hours from Indy. They made a 10:00 o'clock flight this morning and are on their way!!!!!!!

    Yay!!

  9. Exactly. And this is why I get crazy when I read posts asking if it is ok to put a 10 and 7 year old in a cabin across the hall!!! Of course they will pretend a parent is registered in that cabin even though not sleeping there.

I do not believe anyone has to "pretend" anything.

It's been a while - but the last time I checked Carnival permitted children to be booked in a adjacent (next door or across the hall) cabin - without an adult in that cabin.

  10. I'm leaving on the carnival conquest Sunday for a 7 day eastern Caribbean cruise. Is the first elegant dinner the captains dinner or is the second?

Thank you and happy new year!

There is no official distinction - but I think people dress up more for the first.

  11. Ugh.. I bought Carnival Cruise insurance last week with our cruise. wondering if I can still cancel it and buy third party. Anyone know?

I believe you can add or remove the Carnival insurance any time up to final payment.

But...remember if you are insuring for a previous medical condition - even the third party carriers only cover from the time you book the insurance. Nothing preexisting - unless the policy is booked with in a few days of the initial trip deposit.

  12. First time I can recall different gifts being given out at same time.

I think it happens often - during the transition of one item to the next.

I remember the uproar when some ships changed to hats - but others were still giving the tumblers! :/
