I would be perfectly happy with this - we did it once when a medical condition meant my wife wouldn't enjoy time ashore so had 14 days on vision of the seas. We've done plenty of transatlantics and enjoy sea days.

I think that's true if you had asked for a refund, and not received it yet (a position I'm currently in with RCCL), but it seems to me - a non-lawyer - that a FCC is more akin to a gift certificate which becomes worthless if the company stops trading. If the FCC has a term where it can be converted to a refund then the only way I can see that being sorted out is in court, but since there's likely to be little left for unsecured creditors anyway whether it would be worth doing is a different question.

In my experience here in Europe, room size excluded, to find a comparable level of service, food & drink at at an all inclusive could definitely cost more depending on the time of year. Indeed this is the exact reason we've just booked for our anniversary next year, we considered other options, but £750pp for 2 weeks on Iona was unbeatable.

YMMV especially if you're not fine with staying in interior cabins as we are. Hotels pretty much always come with a window (though I have stayed in one that didn't!).

Yes, a 14 night cruise in the med & greek isles. It wasn't by choice - my wife had a stent bypassing a kidney stone which made it very uncomfortable for her to move around very much. I still had a great cruise and I certainly didn't regret going. We quite often stay on at various ports or just nip out for a few hours so I'd describe us as people who primarily cruise for the ship experience anyway.

1000x this, it's incredibly valuable information to RCCL to know exactly what people are willing to pay to jump up between various categories for future pricing, even if there's no availability whatsoever for the current cruise.
