We board Allure on 10/10, and just received the exact same email from Dexter that I posted two weeks ago. Just sent our email response with CK dinner, stateroom amenities, and specialty restaurant reservation requests.

    @orville99, a favor to ask.

When you get a copy of the entertainment/show times for the week, can you post it in your Roll Call or the 10/17 Roll Call. Would appreciate having that info before I email.

    Enjoy your cruise.

So I checked and here is the confusion of expiration dates. This pdf link refers to lot number 195-200. Mine says 195-100 so I have no idea if these kits have an extended expiration date. Anyone have ideas. The phone number I called says they are closed now and try on Monday. I sure would like some answers soon.

I’m at work and don’t have my test kits with me, but reading the pdf, it would appear there are part numbers (195-100) and lot numbers. The specific lot number is listed on the 2-10 pages. It shows basically all tests are extended 3 months. This has also been discussed ad nauseam on other threads.

    Somewhat related:

The Port of Galveston is talking with Norwegian Cruise Line about a memorandum of understanding for a long-term strategy beginning in November 2023.

NCL had a 'Texaribbean' cruise program from Houston years ago but the line has never sailed from Galveston. Norwegian Prima is now set to call in fall 2022 for three visits.

This led Seatrade Cruise News to earlier ask NCL President and CEO Harry Sommer if the line was looking at Galveston as a potential new homeport.

The Port of Galveston today indicated that's the case.

NCL has six 142,500gt Prima-class newbuilds coming between 2022 and 2027.

    New Royal Caribbean terminal

The fall 2023 timing for the start of a possible agreement with NCL dovetails with the completion of Royal Caribbean Group's planned $100m cruise terminal to accommodate the first Oasis-class ship in Texas.

Galveston recently granted Royal Caribbean an extension for that facility because the company needs more time to arrange financing. Under the current terms, completion is required by the end of July 2023, however the goal is to substantially finish the terminal by fall 2022 when Allure of the Seas is scheduled to begin homeporting. Under its extension, Royal Caribbean is off the hook for paying rent there until, latest, fall 2023.

Norwegian Prima will first arrive at Galveston in October 2022 on a 12-night voyage from New York that includes stops at Aruba, Bonaire and Curaçao. It will sail two short Western Caribbean round-trips: a three-day cruise on Oct. 27 and a four-day cruise on Oct. 31.

Galveston seeks long-term strategy with Norwegian Cruise Line (seatrade-cruise.com)

Could one speculate that either Allure or an Oasis class ship will be in Galveston July 2023 based on this article?

Like mentioned above...you can only give 3 names for the 6 tests. If you have 4 people you will need to purchase a second set. The names you give are on the order and in the system.

Thanks. We are just going to use these as a back up in case we run into problems. They won’t be first choice. I emailed emed. As long as any individual has an Navica app, they can use any one of the tests in the box.

  5. I think I got this. Please confirm.

    1. 4 adults traveling

    2. Purchase 6 pack from emed.
    3. 4 adults each download and set up Navica App on own phone.
    4. Each person contacts the health proctor separately with a sealed test.
    5. Results sent to the individual.

That leaves 2 spares if there are issues.

    Done.

    Is that correct?

What if you were in the OP's position and your passport doesn't come back in time after sending it in for renewal? Do you cruise with the DL/BC or do you not cruise?

Me personally, I would never find myself in the OP’s position, but if I did, I would pay the money to expedite and not just blow that option off. If after that I still didn’t have it, I would cruise.

  7. While I agree with everyone that a DL and a BC works, I would never leave the states without it. If you happen to fall ill or had to leave the ship in another country, the lack of passport becomes a little more problematic. Not a hassle I want to have while dealing with an illness or injury.

Very long lines and disorganized. Even when suites or upper level show up on time or just before it makes no difference you're just in line behind 1k people. Some have said it was a nightmare of about 1-2 hour wait.

Thanks. Hopefully it gets better and they offer suite lines as well. Don’t want to start my vacation out in a two hour line.

  9. I know “value” is subjective, but I am interested to know, from

those of you who paid what I believe to be the lowest price of 79 dollars, is it even worth it at that price? Currently, my Oct 17 Allure has it for 179 and there is no way I would do that, but I am open to hear opinions of others should the price drop back down to the 80 dollar range.

    What say you?

100% agree.  I’ve had the van winkles and they are good….I’d pay msrp but not a penny more.  They aren’t worth the aftermarket price.

whistle pig is very good.  I have all their bottles now except this past years boss hog.  The 18 year double malt is by far one of the best ryes I have ever had

I've had most of the Van Winkle Family. I would take a George T  Stagg over any of them any day.
