  1. Coming from Celebrity the drinks package is reasonable priced, then again drinks are cheaper on P&O.

It will be interesting to see how the trial goes, one thing for us is that it gives cost certainty. We aren't big drinkers but if you have a couple of coffees, soft drinks, bottled water, some beers and a couple of cocktails over the course of a day you exceed the cost of the Celebrity package which is £60 per day.

We've just booked a week long cruise in April which is a taster for our main cruise, a good way for us to see how things work out paying as you go at the bars.

  2. The problem with Tile is that relies upon other users going near something you are trying to find, it doesn’t actually emit a signal, your phone will only remember where the item last was.

I once left my backpack on the train, my iPad pinged when it was going through the station at London to be taken to lost property, I assumed I had lost it until this point. I have had Tile ever since but luckily not had the need to try it out properly.

  3. Magnets for the cabin walls.

Jam - we’ve only you cruised Celebrity and their jam is like jelly, yuck.

    Bottle opener.

One of those ice bags for sprains, just in case.

Hand cream, the hand sanitiser always makes my hands dry and itchy.

  4. On our Baltic cruise last year a couple wore jogging bottoms almost every night in Blu. We originally booked Aqua to avoid the formal nights, I tend to wear smart jeans or suit trousers with a shirt.

  5. Thanks to everyone for replying! Yes I am in the Uk and couldn't see where to get them posted to me and anyway we don't have time for that now haha. I had been trying to check in online - on and off - for about three weeks and the system kept chucking me out! Perhaps if I had got through three weeks ago I would have had time to sort this but I thought there would be printable ones like with other cruise lines. Anyway not to worry I have got our express passes and therefore I will just ask the porter for labels at the port as that seems to be an option!!

Just got to actually pack said luggage now!!

    thanks all :)

If you’ve managed to print off your express pass you should receive an emailed ticket/itinerary confirming everything, the luggage tickets are in there.

    Enjoy your cruise.

  6. On Celebrity, how does onboard credit work? Is it simply applied to your charge total at the end of the cruise or do you have to specifically apply to a purchase?

It is credited to your account and anything you buy runs it down.

  7. Thanks Scriv and Simon-t for the reassurance! :D It's Arcadia we're on (8th July) and we are thinking of doing a tour with Alla Tours, but we have never booked an independent tour before (always done our own thing where possible or a ships tour if not). This is also our first time in Russia and between the World Cup and the new port rules, I'm very nervous about delays! :o

We were in St Petersburg this time last year when the CONACAF Cup was played, rehearsals for the World Cup. We were disappointed that we couldn’t get near the Church of Spilled Blood as it was in the fan zone, I’m assuming the same applies now.

  8. So, nothing is automatically assigned? If I get to choose the time when I purchase on line, that should take care of my time concerns.

We had a 3 night package and a booking was made for us for the first night by Celebrity, I don’t recall which restaurant it was, this was in an envelope in our room. All we did was go to the Murano reception area and were able to cancel that booking and make bookings for the remainder of our cruise.

  9. That's disappointing, having time off when there is something like the World Cup on is great, as you would normally miss it if you work.

We've only ever sailed Celebrity and British Lions, CONACAF Cup, Under 18/21 World Cups were all shown on our previous cruises. Trying P&O next year so hopefully there will be more TV options by then, we don't spend a lot of time in our room, but it is nice to watch TV occasionally.

  10. I’ve cruised during numerous sporting events and coverage has always been available. The British Lions tour was on during our last cruise and it became a great event with the amount of people watching. I’m sure the World Cup will be the same.

  11. Does anyone know if I can use the TravelEx Cash Passport card on the Reflection as I can't seem to find this detail anywhere?

    Thank you

I’m not sure, best check with Celebrity. They might have a different policy as it is a loading type card rather than a credit limit card.

  12. I use packing cubes and I also have a folding board for my shirts, works a treat.

Looking forward to P&O next year where I can use an iron, takes ages to pack for Celebrity as you have to be really really careful - no irons allowed on their ships.

I find packing cubes make unpacking easier too, lift out each cube and take them to where you need to put your things away.

  13. I travel from the UK with multiple US and European adaptors, it means you can maximise your charging options with regards types of plug and voltage.

Enjoy your cruise, counting down the days until our next one.

  14. Yes, Celebrity seems to have shuttle buses available in many of the ports. I remember they were available in Helsinki and Copenhagen and I think Tallin. I don’t remember about Stockholm. Celebrity also seems to have a deal with the Hop on Hop off buses that they also sell tickets for those buses. There seems to be slight premium.

Buses were available in Stockholm last year, for a fee.
