  1. Just don't give up it may take some time, suggest you record everything as you will have no records on the Tui website.
  2. Check on the citizens advice website re flight delays, you have a legal right to compensation if you fit the criteria. If you get no further with Tui contact the CAA for help with forms etc if that still doesn't work the CAA will fight it for you via PACT. It worked for us. 😊
  3. If your flight is over three hours late on arrival, time is taken when doors are open and you are free to exit the plane, you can claim a set amount depending on distance flown. πŸ‘
  4. Stan it may be prudent, as its your first cruise, to go with the ship's excursions you would never be left behind. Also take a note of this ships phone number, its in the leaflet in your cabin. Finally if you are late the captain will sound the horn three times informing all left ashore that he is goingπŸ˜•
  5. Hi Stan First time cruisers fantastic. Just be very careful as the ship will sail without you, we have seen it many times, and you have to pay for the transport to the next POC, normally local shore excursions are very good and return you in good time, problems are normally on long journeys such as trips to Rome when road or rail problems are normal. We, in sixty plus cruises with Tui, have never been left behind although we were close once when a storm closed all roads back to the ship. Have a great cruise 😎
  6. Hi for your wine your table waiter will also serve your wine, we always ask for a new bottle which they top us up from throughout the meal or you can ask them to leave it with you. All drinks are not found in all bars ie on Discovery you can get craft draught beers in the Live bar but not other bars. This all may have changed lately. 😊 IMO the package is well worth itπŸ₯ƒ
  7. Tui not doing so good from Birmingham at the moment, with a couple of flights over six hours late, Montego Bay and Alicante.
  8. Absolutely correct, from experience, I can confirm that serious issues are better addressed through a solicitor and unfortunately even then it will take a long time. Your solicitor will have addresses for Tui solicitors , which I have but that was ten years ago. Be persistent and good luck.
  9. Absolutely fantastic trip, it is a long journey but we'll worth it, we found it cold when we went but we did sit outside for some local food next to the river. Enjoy 😊
  10. Hi BJ hope all OK with you and yours, we have in the past seen some great sport in the 'TV' lounge on Destiny you may not remember it, but it was a lovely social time, however I think if, or when we cruise again watching TV would be the last on our to do list πŸ˜‰
  11. Hi and welcome your first cruise that's fantastic, as no one has replied I will give you info on our experience, after sixty plus cruises with Tui, prior to pre covid. Excursions could be booked a couple of months prior to travel and could be cancelled, without cost, on board, they did have a presentation of excursions available on the day at sea which gave an excellent insight into what was available, you could also just go off ship and pick up a taxi. Our recommendation on your first cruise is to do round trips booked onboard to review the area. Hope you have a great cruise, sorry could not be of more help but we have not cruised recently
  12. Can't fault the cover we had through our bank, Nationwide, but it did become expensive when we reached the age limit as all the declared heath issues, understandably, attracted a large premium. Just make certain you declare all medical issues.
  13. They are a great duo, we were fortunate to see them on the first cruise they did for Thomson and many more since but the most memorable for us was our Golden anniversary which happened to coensided with our fiftieth cruise and Thomson picked this up and made it a very special cruise for us many years ago now, sorry but I had to say it. 😊
  14. Must agree with that but we still rate 2Intense as our favourites.
  15. Hi Dave again sorry about your situation and hope all works out for you, I can tell you that our TA extended our final payment date when we asked but that was covid related. Good luck 🀞 🀞
  16. Greg Torbar was also good fun, haven't had a dodgy one, yet, just some are more involved with the guests and add something to a cruise.
  17. Hi DG don’t think any Marella ships now go into the dock adjacent to Los Ramblers because of the bridge, the old Spirit & Celebration did in the past but I think now you have to catch a bus/taxi into town, but its only about 15 minutes, but it may be different now πŸ€”
  18. Hi BJ At the moment it's a no, however we do have something booked for next year , it's a freebie given to us after a disastrous D2 cruise, which will probably not be used but we will see how we feel at the time. πŸ€—
  19. Hi Jim don't really know how to take that, perhaps the famous quote of YOU CAN'T BE SERIOUS comes to mind. πŸ˜‚
  20. Hi BJ I think you are not on your own with this, probably one of the reasons we have not yet risked it, yet, fully respect anyone who has, really missing the experience. Hope you and yours are still ok.
  21. Never been on a Marella /Thomson cruise when we haven't had a fridge and we have been on many. But every one has different requirements, we found the premium drinks package great and would always take it, if you don't want the water in your cabin, for whatever reason, just let them know.
