Just caught your review. Very good as always.
We have never sailed out of Galveston, so it was very informative. And the photos were great.
Thanks for taking the time to share your experience. Feel like l have been on a cruise!

Hope all will be safe in Florida and the path of the storm.
Just recently returned from a road trip to FL staying at our favorite place in Daytona Beach Shores and Sarasota. Hope it will not be as severe as forecast!
Be safe Cruise Critic friends.

I have been laughing out loud reading your posts! DH will think I am crazy.
So glad you had help crossing the stream. Nice to know there are still kind people willing to help.

OK, now I remember, why I have never taken a cruise to Alaska. The COLD weather! Although, I think I want to go at least once after seeing your photos.
What is Holland America like? We have only sailed on RC.

Maureen, you really should be doing this for a living. A travel blog or something......so entertaining.

Glad to see the sunshine. Enjoy your time in Bermuda. We have only been there once and we took the ferry to downtown (?) for shopping and lunch.
One last tip for rough seas. We were on a very rough cruise on Explorer a few years back going down to the Caribbean. I found it more comfortable sleeping on the sofa where the swaying was not side to side as on the bed, but head to toe on the couch. My husband was in the bed and got sick. I was OK.
Hope the rest of your cruise is great!

Amazing! Just amazing! I think I will have to try an Alaskan cruise.

So sorry you are having a rough time. Hopefully you will sail out of this soon.
We were on Navigator in 2005 sailing back to Miami through Hurricane Katrina.
We find Bonine helps us.
Take care and hope it gets better soon.

Following along. Hope the seas will not be too rough for your cruise.
And 80lb weight loss - that is great!

Hi Maureen,
So glad I found your review! You are entertaining as always.
I have never been on a cruise to Alaska (only short layover at the airport). And I have never been on Hollland America, so this is very interesting.
Your photos are amazing.
Have fun!

Jane,
You find the best excursions. It looks like the perfect day!
DH always teases me "you are already on a boat and now you are getting on another one for the day"? And the answer is always "yes"!
Thanks for sharing.

We had an easy tender in. We just planned on winging it on our own today since the next three days were going to be intense.
The weather was very nice!
We decided that we would take the bus over to Nice and try to find the Promenade Anglais and just hang out for a while. We didn't exactly know where to go but we followed the crowd up a very steep hill and finally found the bus stop. This little sign was helpful.
It was not a easy walk' date=' but we made it. The bus was 1.5 euros over to Nice and it was packed. Standing room only. Thank goodness it was a short ride.
When we got to Nice, we had no clue where to go from where the bus let us off. We couldn't see taxis or anything. But this HOHO bus came along and we just hopped on it. We had a nice ride around the city and we finally reached the Promenade Anglais. We hopped off there and looked around and then found a nice little sidewalk café to have lunch. Of course John spotted a McDonalds and had to go there for some Wi-Fi. Andrea, Michael, and I went to the café and John joined us later. We got a look at the very rocky beach there and decided that was not the beach experience that we would like to have.
I get chills just looking at your photos of Nice. It is such a lovely place to have such a horrific attack!

Thanks for the suggestion' date=' Steve. My husband tries to get me to do it that way, but this way is just easier for me......less frustrating and I'm just so used to it. (Don't like change!) Ha!
I have enjoyed looking at your beautiful photos. Keep up the good work![/size']
Enjoying your review as always! Please don't change a thing. Your reviews are great just the way you do them.

22 years ago we found out our 6 year old son's cancer had spread and his prognosis was VERY poor. We desperately planned what we thought would be our last family vacation with him...a 3 day cruise on Empress of the Seas. (Nordic Empress back then) The only cabin that was available (we booked it 3 days prior to sailing) was the aft owners suite...I think the one you are staying in!!! It cost us $4000 for the 4 of us to go. (our daughter was 3) I went out and bought a video camera in order to document the entire trip. (Did I mention we had no money...but who cared?) It was an amazing trip that we will always cherish. I hope to sail in that same cabin someday soon! Our son...well, after being told he had 9 months to live, he is a happy, successful 28 year old!!! I really look forward to your pictures of the ship and your suite. Thank you!!!
So happy for you and your family.
What a blessing!

Glad the formal night dinner was very good. Lovely photo of the two of you.

Looking forward to your review. We also enjoyed sailing on Explorer out of Bayonne.
No flights required!

Agree, I like the KYSS bag. I think I have the medium. We ordered on-line and they were very responsive and prompt.
We never take our passports on shore excursions. We take a Drivers License as a form of ID.

Thanks so much for your Grandeur Live Review! Enjoyed catching up with your adventures everyday. Haven't been on a cruise in a few years, as the last three cruisesI have ended up with a virus or flu (not blaming anyone, just my experience). Want to take advantage of the Grandeur as she is so close. Safe travels home.
