Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Are the employees in the Seattle terminal (Pier 66) employees of NCL or the port of Seattle? I am specifically referring to the employees at the check in desk. I received my post cruise survey and wish to give a thumbs up to a few of the land based employees for the smooth embark last week but if they are port employees it would no really make much difference.
  2. I saw some good news. Bliss has added Icons to the entertainment roster. All other Bliss shows are still showing as well. It now appears on my April/May Alaska itinerary at any rate. 'A concert experience featuring the songs of musical legends (icons) from the last six decades. From Dolly to Gaga, our cast of vocalists and orchestra will pay tribute to the music these legendary artists created by collectively showcasing hits that everyone can sing along to.'
  3. yes. They will even bring you an Irish Coffee in the MDR if you wish.
  4. makes it hard to plan specialty diners/shows if whey don't tell you when it is. 😞
  5. We just turned Sapphire so are eligible for diner with officers on our next voyage. I understand that it is sort of random on which officers attend. The cruise next rep mentioned that the event is usually held in one of the MDR's (Taste or Savor). Is the menu served for this event the same menu as what is being regularly served that evening or is an enhanced menu? ----- maybe unlimited lobster tails and a porterhouse? LOL. thanks
  6. it does open a bit earlier.........i want to say 5:00 but do not have a past Daily in front of me. It is also a slightly reduced menu but still plenty to eat.
  7. I am not sure about Dyd Norman's but the Beattles shows are all preset regardless of who is performing. I think there are 3 or 4 different sets (for different Beattles eras) but they do not change.
  8. there was one on the Joy last February (for kiddie pool). I have seen them on other sailings as well
  9. I think it is odd that the filet in the MDR (at $15) is the least expensive option (rib eye is $25, NY is $20) while at cagneys it is the most expensive of the options.
  10. Last October --- taxed while docked in Seattle (roughly 10% ---- so maybe $1.50 a drink). no taxes in Alaska. Was taxed (I do not recall how much) while in Canadian water heading to Victoria.
  11. in the past you could request one...... not sure if that is still true. We had a standard balcony.
  12. I thought it was good. I had the prosciutto and arugula. Years ago a pizza was considered an appetizer. If that is the case for you I would try it. On my last cruise they counted the pizza as an entrée. If that is the case then there are better options in my opinion (the oso buco, or the tenderloin come to mind).
  13. We were on deck 10 FWD not log ago (we usually stay FWD). no noise at all. Here is a photo on the deck 8 club balcony (taken from our deck10 standard balcony). The balcony is huge. I was really surprised to see that few of the folks seemed to use the balcony that much.
  14. ATT in Alaskan port stops works fine for me. The wife's T-Mobile ---- not so much.
  15. really odd ---- with a new 'incognito' browser session (not logged in to my NCL account) it shows 'per person' pricing and also the taxes and port fees. when logged in to my NCL account prices are 'per stateroom' and taxes are NOT reflected in prices. odd.
