  1. Just received a notification Carnival is not accepting our proxy statement as proof of share ownership because it is not dated within their three month window. Since we only receive this annually that limits its application. Not a positive view for us re Carnival. Princess has accepted our proxy statement with no problem.
  2. Can’t link my booking number in the app. I get “this booking number has already been claimed”. However in the cruise personalizer all is fine. Anyone had this problem?
  3. Considering Princess Platinum Insurance. My understanding from reading the provisions of the plan is that with regards to pre existing coverage I need to pay for the plan to activate the effective date. That way, if I get a prexisting condition before the cruise but after the effective date, I am covered? Also, if I should cancel the cruise before final payment, would I receive a refund for the Platinum insurance? thanks for your help.
  4. Also be careful if you are on a cruise that is sold both as a back to back and a single cruise. We were on the single sold cruise and when we were charged three times for unordered drinks and complained to the pursers desk we were told the error happened on the first leg and accounts had been closed off. After a great deal of back and forth and insistence on our part, we did receive a credit.
  5. Not surprised in the least at the masking order. On our northbound portion of the Grand to Alaska on May 11 masking was perhaps at 60% in all venues on the ship. On the southbound May 18 trip on the Grand mask wearing was perhaps at 2%. By the end of the May 18 cruise coughing and sneezing was everywhere. Venues such as the Explorer lounge were often standing room only, social distancing and surface cleaning (except for the Horizon) did not exist, elevators were often at capacity. There was a delay at disembarkation and everyone had been funnelled into hallways and lounges in close proximity. We did have a change of 800 passengers in Whittier May 18, many of them had come from the Denali portion, so perhaps Covid had been incubating with that group?
  6. Just returned from the Grand Princess Alaska. We are totally fed up with the Princess Medallion app. So many problems and changes to the system. Haven't sailed with HAL for a few years and my question is: do they have a similar program or is it still just the card for cabin entry and purchases?
  7. Winemaker1 we returned yesterday from 14 day Vancouver to Vancouver to Alaska on the Grand . No test required in the middle
