We were in an aft balcony Hamburg to Southampton deck 9 and could definitely feel the boat movement during the night.
Hope you enjoyed the rugby it was an excellent game.
Hoping for calm seas and sunshine for you!

We were on the 2 night Escape cruise and ate dinner both nights in the Manhattan, on the second night I had the lobster which was good.
The rest of the meals my fellow diners had were tasty.

I've just posted room service menus on Instagram.

Sully - this was our route for the one nighter on the 27th October!
Thanks for that! :-)
I regularly sail in that area so I was interested.
-
Wasn't there Sully, but according to my marine tracker, Escape got about 30 km below the Isle of Wight and did about 2 or 3 parallel rectangles east 40 km about 30 km below Brighton. Hope I didn't horn in there. Gerry
It just did a bit of a float around then. Southampton to Isle of Wight takes an hour on the ferry

Tipping arggghh. Such an American thing.....

We've been out in the channel for the preview one nighter. Just got back into Southampton.
Did the one nighter just go into the solent, round the Isle of Wight or a bit further?

We were just on the 2 night Hamburg to Southampton and ate in Food Republic for lunch on Monday. We had chicken wings, lamb chops, sushi and calamari. It had a a mixture of everything and all for sharing. We liked the atmosphere.
If you want a formal dinner than maybe not the place to be but very tasty.
La Cucina we have not been to since the Epic as it as Italian as Disney World!! Hopefully it may have changed.
Off to Rome next week for work for real Italian food :-)
We don't have children so cannot comment on what small people would like!
-
From that list Food Republic we enjoyed every dish from there. Not keen on Teppanayki too much butter and not Japanese at all!

I will dig out my English daily and check

We were on the two nighter and found the crew to be friendly and efficient. We were aft balcony deck 9 and found it very quiet.
-
Oooh we thought about going there for the lobster but in the end we did go to Food Republic & it was a FANTASTIC meal!!! Well worth going there - if you like small plates/tapas style food - it's well worth it! [emoji486]
Agree,Food Republic was lovely!

Seemed to be some mixed messages on the muster drill. On Sunday our muster place was the Manhattan room and the passengers next to us asked if they needed to attend any more as they were staying on to the TA. They were told they needed to attend all 3 which they didn't seem amused about!
Clearing immigration for the UK on board seemed difficult as they were still trying to track down the stragglers well into the afternoon.
We also thought the Manhattan menu good.

It smelt so nice for two days!! OH smokes 20-30 per day and said I don't mind going outside and it was chilly from Hamburg to Southampton.....
-
My brother is coming with me on the Escape in December and he smokes. Does anyone have information on which areas are designated for smokers?
Thanks!
Michelle
Waterfront outside 5 o'clock bar, starboard aft in H20 and up by the waves bar. That's all my OH found who is a dedicated smoker!!!
-
There were no room service menus on board, guess that will change for the TA??
-
I want to try Food Republic tonight but my hubby wants to eat in the Manhattan Room as he loves the look of the room! This is lobster dependant though lol! [emoji572]️[emoji568][emoji23]
I had lobster last night in the Manhattan room it was an extra $19.99 tasted lovely!
So envious you are still on board....

We visited Margaritaville as well but thought it too cold to stay!!
Ate in Food Republic for lunch it was excellent.
Also loved the boat, now safely back home it was an exhausting couple of days!

We are staying in a Courtyard PH on deck 17. Any pictures?
Next door to us was a corner aft one, with lounge separate bedroom. That had a huge balcony, tables, chairs, loungers and enough space to hold a party!
-
Any pics of your balcony? I'm staying in an act facing on November 28th

Working out how to add photo!!! compared to say a mid ship balcony it was at least 1.5 times bigger. For 3 of us large amount of space the balconies are very deep.

Are there coffee makers in all the cabins??
We had a normal coffee make in the balcony cabin, not a fancy Nespresso one.

Just got back home from the 2 day from Hamburg, I can only compare this ship to the Epic. The Escape is fantastic so well laid out, different bars with different ambiance we had a lot of fun and now slightly exhausted!!
I don't have many photos but can answer questions if I can.
We were in 9320 which is an aft facing balcony. We were sharing it with my 70 year old mum so had it set up as twins and the sofa being made up each night. Mum is in a wheelchair however her goal seemed to get us to whiz her round the ship to see as much as possible.

Just got home after the 2 day Escape from Hamburg. We saw both shows After Midnight was ok, Million Dollar Quartet was fantastic. Great performers, musicians and energy.
Just our personal opinion......
The ship is great, well laid out, so many different bars with different feels. Caught the last hour at Howl at the moon last night, also may have had too many Rebellious Fish cocktails as they were $6.95 each as cocktail of the day! A fun but slightly exhausting 2 days.
Cannot wait for our 2 weeks in January in the sunshine back on this ship.
Considering it was the first paid cruise, staff were great and on the ball and seemed well prepared.

AIS is a legal requirement on all vessels over 300 Gross tonnage.
You can't just turn it off!
