  1. I have been on Escape, Getaway, Breakaway, Gem, Bliss, some multiple times. Bliss is my favorite because of observation lounge, thermal suite, racetrack and restaurants. Between Escape and Getaway, have to go with Escape. Because the haven is enclosed and is great anytime of the year. The district brew house and food republic. Thermal suite!
  2. Checked in yesterday for Feb 1 cruise and edocs show 6 pack, 1 liter water bottles x 2. We have the FAS bev package and upgraded to the Premium plus package
  3. I agree with the last post related to Syds, hire a cover band, like they use to, until Syds returns. RCL has tons of rotating cover bands, that perform in the music hall. As for late night food on NCL, you have O sheehans or room service. As for RCL or Celebrity, you have pizza or scraps in the buffett/room service, not even close to O'Sheehans.
  4. It is not covid! Too many missing listings etc, especially with the link for casting call on Jan 4 for syd entertainers. There is a post where one of syds entertainers parents was going on cruise and the show was canceled indefinitely. They have to know it has been a hit, with waiting lines to get in etc. A casting call on Jan 4, I do not see the show returning right away, but I hope I am pleasently supprised. I have a Feb 1 cruise and am upset if it does not return, my wife and I have talked about how we are looking forward to it. I love to see live rock bands on any cruise and make sure to see them as much as reasonably possible. Almost every cruise has atleast one, and loved by many. I can remember before syds, they would have routine cover bands play there. Why would NCL let it lapse, especially over xmas and NYE cruises, people are not happy. Junk, the show in the specialty dining venue is gone, again my wife and I love to go to those as the other headline shows are not so great except "choir of men" which use to be in this venue until became very popular and moved to main theater. I get it, inflation, covid, supply chain etc. have affected us all, but to remove things that attract customers baffles me. They have raised room tips to highest in industry, cruise prices in category seem to be at or above pre covid(no real bargains) Taken away specialty dinings with free at sea, prices on the nickle and dime items are all up(such as thermal suite etc), one turn down a day from two. It is so hard to swallow the increases and removal of services, when those happen it is very unlikely even in a positve turn of the economy to return to pre levels. I know I am ranting but I love cruising or I did, and looked forward to such things as Syds etc. In fact we cruised with NCL to get to Platinum and are shareholders, uggh. Lets hope we get good news of quick return, I am not a fan of Karoke, as I cannot sing and nor can many others :} !
  5. The Thermal suite is generally a must for us, but the price is going up so much. Tried to get a spa room as it was cheaper then combo but missed that boat this next Feb cruise. It is great on the bigger ships, a lot of room and therapy pool/saunas. I love the ambiance but some of the older ships are looking a little ragged/rusty in areas. I do not tend to stay long on the heated beds, enough till I am dry then move to lounger and pop in airpods and surf net etc, till I start trying to catch flys. Generally we are in there in morning with the intention of getting there in afternoon/evening but like others have said seems like too much work to get there. I am going to make effort to do that this next cruise in Feb. I love that it is away from the masses, with your own private pool/spa and no kids. I will say I have made the mistake of being loud in the hot tub when talking to new friend, had to yell over sounds of jets and therapy pool, then I realized I was yelling and bothering others, whoops. I had hard time swallowing the price this next cruise, I use to pay $199 for 7 days, this is a 5 day and am paying $239, Inflation/covid is awful. It should be interesting, we have not taken an NCL cruise in a bit, been on RC and Celebrity. All showing signs of under staffing/new and a little loss of entertainment. I am hearing NCL is cutting a lot of the better entertainment/activities and I hope that is not the case. It is hard to swallow paying more for less. Sorry went on a rant. Love the thermal suite, do not see that going away just more money. It is like my little Haven when not staying in the Haven, makes me feel good not to be in the people soup/battle at the pool.
  6. I am specifically looking for 5 day Bermuda so that I can plan accordingly. Thank you in advance.
  7. We had 12706, looking at the deck plans, this room looks slightly different. The blue area is where our small balcony was, but the room and perks were great. The only thing that was negative, is we had a bit of walk to elevator. The whole haven with observatory lounge made up for the small balcony. We went in December out of NY. It was a great cruise and the bliss is our favorite cruise ship.
  8. All thank you for the feedback and information. I hope others see this and learn from it as it was a little never racking with trying to manage my family, luggage and Border police. I also have done the customs form in the past and waved thru even if just over the limit, probably a small amount is not worth the paperwork. I would imagine if more people know of this it would discourage them from buying big ticket items on board. Love the detail about not telling shore stores what ship you are on. I wonder if anyone has experience having to pay duties to customs and what it cost?
  9. Recent cruise, upon leaving ship showing my seapass card, I was told I was randomly identified to have to meet with customs/immigration. Thought this was some random thing, then I was corralled with a number of other people that seemed to think it was related to what they spent on items on the trip. I was just at the customs limit for the three of us, others were much higher. This held us up from what would be a quick departure. They had taken my passport at the ship and waited for probably 20 minutes then escorted us to luggage where my family and porter gathered our luggage, headed to the passport/facial recognition, which still waited in line and did, then escorted me into Customs office. Customs took my passport from RCCL and went in back, came out probably 20 minutes later and asked how many in my family, what did we buy on ship and how much was it, then said no duties today thank you. There were a number of other people in the room as well, some had kids waiting for them and others late for excursions. Anyone else ever have this happen? it was a first for me after 16 cruises. HMMM?
