  1. Jeesh! I can see having those in cabins where only 2 people will be, but it's ridiculous that they would expect someone to sleep for 7 days on this piece of crap. Especially when the deck plans specifically state that there is a sleeper SOFA. I've contacted my TA and RCCL to see if they can figure out what's actually in there.

  2. Has anyone ever been in this cabin? I'm concerned about the sleeper sofa not being a sofa at all, but instead some crummy fold out chair. I did a search of the cabin number and came across a thread about accessible cabins on Oasis having these chairs instead of a sofa sleeper as indicated by the deck plans. This is all they had left for 3 people when I booked and there hasn't been anything else since.

  3. Well suprised this morning. We have 2 staterooms booked on the Quantum of the Seas Transatlantic.

Logged into my cruise account and have I been upgraded from an outside to a D8 balcony and Wifey and son have been upgraded from an inside to an obstructed view balcony.

I know it's April 1st but I am sure Royal would not play a prank, would they.

Congratulations! What a nice surprise! :D So the only way you found out was by logging into your account? I would think they would send an email.

  4. Despite the included tip, I still felt compelled to add $1 to most purchases. That's just me. But honestly, I didn’t get a sense that it mattered a bit and felt kind of dumb afterwards - tipping what amounts to 35% for someone to open a beer bottle. But I still did it anyway...

Yes, I think there are many who feel the same way. I'm definitely one of those type. However, when I'm out locally when I get a drink I almost always tip $1 per drink no matter the cost, especially if I'm at a pay-as-you-go place versus running a tab. So I plan on doing a lot of the drinks of the day and at $8 I'm already tipping $1.44 (based on the 18% gratuity added to the package). So I'm going try real hard to not add that extra $1. That would take the $65 per day for drinks up to possibly $75 on some days (this includes other-than alcohol drinks too). That's getting too high! (no pun intended). :D

  5. What are your thoughts on leaving out of Puerto Rico for a cruise?? We live in N.Y and do not mind the flight there but we were wondering how is the ride from the airport to the cruise terminal? Is it a fairly easy experience? We were debating if we should stay there the day before the ship leaves or just fly in the day of.

Absolutely go the day before. If something happens to your flight then there's not nearly as many flight options to get to PR. You can get a hotel for roughly $150-$200 give or take. I ALWAYS fly down the day before regardless of where it's going out of. The only difference is I believe the Adventure (if that what you're looking at) leaves late in the evening giving you some extra time to get down there. But San Juan is in itself a port to do things so why not enjoy yourselves since you're there.

  6. I'd be willing to bet that with the new upsell program that started recently GTY's will start getting their assignments later and later. They may wait and see just how many passengers will buy a discounted upgrade. If this program is a success and lots start taking advantage of the discounted upgrades it could be bad news for those who book the GTY's.

  7. I am becoming so frustrated  trying to use this "new improved" version of RCI's website...any tips  Just back from an RCI cruise (Asia) and I'm at a loss for words on this unfriendly user version

I too had trouble but I found it helped a lot to clear my browser history and cookies then tried again and it was much better.

  8. Does the cash always have to come from the casino or can you get some from guest services? It seems like we used to go and cash our travelers checks there and/or have them break large bills down. Has this changed?
