Just curious if you are getting offers on the website. In the last three weeks, I have not had any posted. I am Signature, and would receive offers every Monday and sometimes more. I am thinking it may be the season, or I am on the naughty list. Would appreciate any feedback. Thanks.

In response to Philly Fan, no, I can’t guarantee the ship will be excellent in November. A restaurant may be great the first visit, but not so much the second time. I am only speaking of my experiences on my last eight cruises on the Independence. I live close to Port Canaveral and cruise once or twice a month. Jewel, is the only ship I have been critical about and not sorry to see her leave PC.

Independence of the Seas is a great ship. The service and staff are excellent and the food is good. It is showing her age, but is clean and easy to find your way around. I have been on her many times and never been disappointed.

Just use your birth certificate until you have your passport, then edit the correct information.

when is the Adventure arriving in PC? Will it be replacing the Independence?

Early coffee in DL has been good. Newer machine is greatly appreciated

Service for dinner in the MDR has been fantastic. Prime Rib was not great, but the beef tenderloin last night was excellent. I need to get brave and try Windjammer today for lunch.

I too booked this cruise a long time ago. I will be looking for a gold pin in the VCL, would love to meet you. We will be fine and enjoying the sea life, even if the food is not up to standard.

Keep in mind the traffic may be heavy, so leave plenty of time.

After my my tainted review of my Jan 28 cruise on the Jewel, I am reluctantly boarding this Sat, Feb 25. I canceled my last cruise and hope it gave them some time to have some improvement in their food service. I won’t starve, but I do enjoy nice service and a hot well prepared dinner in the MDR. I do hope management is reviewing CC and taking notes on what the cuts have done to opinions of loyal cruisers.

I have not been on the Serenade in a while, but just cruised Jewel two week ago. The food was unacceptable in the Windjammer and cold in the MDR. The beef was a poor grade and not able to consume. This was just as the new menus came out, so they may have improved.

salad bar in Windjammer was good, and great mashed potatoes. forgot to mention, a Nurovirus outbreak caused the servers to serve all the food.

I am not a expert, but I have sailed quite often and am Diamond Plus on RCL. I have never complained and have enjoyed all my past cruises. The Jewel was clean and the staff was efficient. The Diamond Club was enjoyable and the host and staff were excellent. The dining experience was not one that I look forward to on a cruise. I felt like I was eating at my junior high cafeteria in the Windjammer. The selections were limited, no meat carving station and poor quality. The MDR tried to do a good job, but the meat was so bad, it was hard to eat. I do miss the old menus and the new items were not up to standard. The Park Solarium beef sandwich was good, but I could not have a bag of chips until after 9pm. Pizza was only served after 9pm. I am not a snob, but RCL needs to do better.

I am trying to see the menus, but can’t find it. Has anyone been able to pull it up?

I can confirm that vouchers are not on your card on debarkation day. I have always had a specialty coffee to get my day started. When they slid my card, it did not list any vouchers. The staff member was as shocked as I was, and was not informed of the new policy. I never use all five of my vouchers and have not abused the policy, but I was not happy early in the morning. This was on the Mariner and the DC coffee machine was out all cruise.

5AM won’t cut it. Speciality coffee is not available until at least 6PM

Yes, but the last day, the DL coffee machine is closed for cleaning. If you want a special coffee, you need to use a voucher that is not available the last day. I don’t abuse the program, only two or three drinks a day, but I do want my coffee before leaving the ship. I was not happy this morning on Mariner when I was not able to use a voucher without notice.

Just departed Mariner this morning. Waited patiently for the coffee bar at Cafe Promanade to open at 6am for my special coffee. When they scanned my card, it did not have my five drinks loaded on the card. I was not happy. The coffee machine in the Diamond Club was not working all week.

Back to normal!!
