How do you drive the ship? Tech talk with the Captain and Chief

The Bird will post all menus and restaurants “soon” (probably Monday). With the ship at 110% capacity with a lot of “younger folks” glued to heir phones, the Wi-Fi has been painfully slow. BTW: Originally created by Iron Chef Jose Garces, the Bird considers Pinchos some of the best food on the ship. And are sad that it is only on the Escape. The Tapas restaurant on the Prima does not compare.

Look for evening movies in Spice H20. Like yesterday there was Star Wars the Force Awakens at 7:00. The night before was Jurassic Word Domination. And tonight there is some Disney movie at 7:00.

Oh No! Say it isn’t so. But it’s time to go

Time to go back to US Eastern time Note: The Bird has sailed on this itinerary many times, including last December. This is the first cruise where the Captain elected not to change the ship’s clock to local time in Honduras and Belize. For most people, they could subtract an hour from ship time,,, there were a few that never figured it out.

Welcome to Passion Island A 45 minute catamaran ride from the Cozumel dock, Passion Island provides a private Mexican oasis. The all inclusive NCL shore excursion includes an open bar with sofas and rum based tropical drinks and an authentic Mexican taco bar with all of the fixings.

Current schedules are not an indicator of future performance. Dining opens up to 130 days in advance. Show bookings, 26 days in advance. Since the Encore is awaiting a second production show, 5 of the 7 nights in the theater are filled with guest performers or comedians. Guest performers sign contracts of 2-6 weeks and CoM is scheduled around the guest performers’ schedules. They can set up or tear down the CoM set (including a stage floor) in 5ish hours, so it can be performed on any night.

Sounds more like a glitch in the bidding system than a security breach. The bidding is run by an independent company, outside NCL, that handle multiple cruise lines and airlines.

You’ll need to stand in line for coffee a couple or three times every single day (sea days and port days) to break even.

There were different things in the “bad bins”,,,, mostly food. The most unusual thing The Bird saw were sea shells. There were passengers being disembarked this morning. Not sure why.

Today the Escape is calling in Cozumel. As yesterday, Mexican customs and border control were inspecting bags. Today, the inspectors and dogs seemed to be targeting food. Yesterday, in Costa Maya, they were confiscating various contraband items.
