  1. It is the cornerstone of their current entertainment. They are catering to a demographic that would appreciate it. Private, Skipper, Kowalski, Rico (Madagascar Penguins),,,, not so much.
  2. I think that almost every knows that CocoCay and Nassau is a pair of ports that are on almost every Eastern Caribbean itinerary. Royal and most every other cruise line stop at their respective private islands and Nassau. The waters around the island are shallow. They need to get in deeper water to dump food waste and treated water and then take on water. They really don’t have much time to make water. They were bunkering water in Port Canaveral today.
  3. If all you can eat lobster is not your thing… maybe all you can eat hot dogs on the Boardwalk.
  4. Embarkation lunch in the Windjammer and Solarium featured a “deconstructed seafood tower” including lobster, muscles, clams, shrimp, tuna tartare, salmon tartare, shrimp cocktail, and. Seafood ceviche.

  6. Join The Bird, *live*, from the world’s biggest weekend on the stunning Utopia of the Seas. The Utopia is Royal Caribbean’s newest Oasis-class ship. She is the first powered by liquified natural gas. Her keel was laid on July 1, 2022 and she was delivered to Royal Caribbean on June 13, 2024. Godmother Meghan Trainor christened the ship on July 15, 2024. Our 3-day weekend party is a round-trip Port Canaveral calling in Nassau and CocoCay. The Utopia is scheduled on 3-day and 4-day cruises through 2026. She has a double occupancy capacity of 5668 guests in 2834 staterooms, supported by 2290 hard working crew members. At 236,473 gross tons, the Utopia of the Seas is the second largest cruise ship in the world. How do you party on the Utopia? There are 23 bars and lounges, 6 dance spots, 5 pools, 8 jacuzzis, 3 water slides, 21 dining options, 5 live music venues, and the new Train Car dining experience. Where are we going this weekend? Fri, Port Canaveral departing 4:00 pm Sat, Nassau 9:00 am - 5:00 pm Sun, CocoCay 7:00 am - 5:00 pm Mon, Port Canaveral arriving at 6:30 am
  7. It is a current feature of the app. We sail this weekend and can’t save our passes either. Cell reception in some terminals is bad, so we’ll carry paper copies (gasp).
  8. Thermal you for taking the time to post your thoughts. We love the Haven and we were on the Joy to Bermuda in May. I am glad you enjoyed your Haven experience.
  9. Sure. They don’t need or want 1000 people in like trying to negotiate a deal for a couple of hundred bucks. They have a bidding system that they can use, if they want, and that is all automatic.
  10. Hmmmm. Great line. But what would you expect to change? Go to Manila??? That is already off the table.
  11. Hmmmm. While a good campaign speech, I seriously doubt that many or any of the passengers would cancel. And it is a change.
  12. The Viva is an Escape wannabe. The 3000 passenger Viva is 2/3 the passengers than the 4500 passenger Escape. Everything will be smaller on the Viva which leads to the perception that it is more crowded. For the most part, it is “right sized”. Nope, the venues won’t be the same size as the Escape. On very rare occasion, I have seen some ballroom music in the late afternoon, but it is not a NCL thing.
  13. We sailed on the Epic right after her 2015 dry dock (when she was only 5 years old). They demo'ed all of the flooring in all public areas, and rebuilt most public areas from the ground up.
  14. I have been isolated on an NCL ship before (recently). I stayed in my balcony cabin, far from the medical center. I just kept the room service people busy bringing food and snacks. And removing dirty trays of dishes.
  15. For many years, NCL's policy has been not to do any upgrades onboard. And not to do any room changes (very limited exceptions apply). The only upgrade that they would do onboard is for an empty suite from a last minute cancellation or no-show. They won't upgrade steerage class rooms. And the upgrade will go to the top Upgrade Advantage bidder, not a random inquiry at Guest Services. Bidding technically remains open for all rooms until the ship leaves the dock.
