If that is how you enjoy spending your time, then go for it. Vacation is all about enjoying yourself. I was on a recent Holland America cruise and there was a man every day sitting by a window looking out at the sea, and knitting hats or similar. It looked like he was really enjoying himself.
Have a great trip!

I am having a lot of fun reliving our first cruise. Your reviews actually inspired the wife and I to try our hand at a blog and reviews. We have been learning as we go. So far so good. Thanks for taking the (considerable) amount of time it takes to do these reviews. It's fun and rewarding, but man... so much work :).
Thanks again for the inspiration to start our own blog.

Duplicate post.. Sorry. Used "back" button on browser. :(

Wow, I have really fallen behind on the video. Bernie... Sorry about that. Do you still need photos? When is your trip? I know you mentioned but I have forgotten

Hey Alonzo14... Did you ever get your answer somewhere? I personally don't know the answer but I'm sure someone on here knows... :)

We booked a resort for a day. It was an all inclusive resort on the beach. They picked us up and took us on a 30-45 minute ride to the resort to hang out for the day. We went in the water, and hung out at the swim up bar overlooking the ocean. They had delicious jerk chicken for lunch as well as a drink or two or three or eleventy-seven or something. They then took us back and dropped us inside the fence and we made our way slowly back to the ship, stopping along the way to shop a little and try a beef patty, etc...
Good times.

We did the San Diego to Vancouver trip this year, and I was surprised at how little information was available regarding anything on the trip, since it is a short one-off. The people here were very helpful in letting me know what to expect.
I reviewed it on my blog if you want to take a peek... you can see the daily programs and menus and such...

Looking forward to another Gambee review. We sailed on the Victory as our first cruise and enjoyed it. Our itinerary was awesome... Keep 'em coming...

Following along to know about the inclusion of Starbucks. I has "ass U me d" that Starbucks was the premium coffee that was included. Thanks.

I'm a new kid for HAL. My first was 27-30MAY 2015... I rather enjoyed it. (review below)

Great link! Thanks. One of the guys looks like the grumpy old fella from "Up".

Is it covered on Beverage plans? If so, I would love to try it.

Lovely story. It was nice to hear of someone doing good. Best wishes to the lady and her family, and best wishes for safety for the officer.

I have been to each only once, but between the two, I preferred St Maarten, largely because of the airport and plane watching at the beach (see video on my blog)...
In St. Thomas, we had a great time, and sailed to St. John and snorkeled around (video on my blog also)... But for me, the airplanes win.
Either one is a lot of fun. I cannot comment as to taking or not taking the ship excursions, as I have only once thus far in our cruise adventures.
Enjoy yourself! And ...um... you're correct... I don't think you can make up that particular excuse if you tried.

We ordered bottles delivered to our room, and for Approx $35 for a liter, it was an excellent value. We ordered one bottle of Myer's Rum and one bottle of Smirnoff, I believe. Considering other lines charge AT LEAST twice as much, it worked out well.
We were only on a 3-day, so the package was not an option for us.
We carried mixers on at embarkation.

I honestly have never even watched the show, so I don't personally have any interest in it...
I'm sure they realized it wasn't as much of a draw as they had hoped. Another line apparently is stuck with a "Cats" contract and it isn't much of a draw either... listen to the masses. :)

In regard to Butcher Gardens, I can understand the frustration. I just went to see that movie about Giraffes, and there was not a single giraffe to be seen. Why in the world would they call it Giraffic World is beyond me. Just a bunch of dinosaurs. geez.

What a lousy situation. I hope you can find a solution that works for you so that you can learn to enjoy cruising as much as many of us do.
Now, for RCI to cancel your reservation is rotten, without any regard to contracts. I am taking my first Royal cruise in October, and if they cancelled, I know I would be quite upset. Sure, the contract says they can do it... but it doesn't mean it's right or fair.
I wish you the best and hope you have a great time with whatever solution you end up with.
Cheers!

Haha, and so it is... and my day job is IT and software development. You think I would have not let that happen. oops. Poor quality control on my part.
Thanks for the door hanger info... That helps to clarify.
Here is what I MEANT to post. :)

Greetings, all. And thank you for your input and help. My next question.
After searching, I found the following thread that included a room service menu:
http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showp...48&postcount=5
It appears that this is a little over two years old. Can it be verified that it is current?
Also, does the door hanger tag include those hot items for everyone? I was uncertain as someplace I saw something about suites getting different options or similar.... (I am not in a suite.. I am in a balcony near front)
THANKS!

We are on our first RCI cruise in October. The Caribbean band by the pools sounds like good times. I look forward to that. !!!

dakrewser, I saw the yum yum man on our Amsterdam cruise, but invariably he was nowhere to be seen when I exited the dining room... :( I didn't even learn what the "yum yum man" was until I got back and read about them. I had seen him but that's about it.

skoeper, that's a super cool idea! My wife would love that.

Although I also like reading long reviews, I really appreciate the format and how concise it is.
Thanks!
