  1. Glad to hear the food on Magic has improved. Yes the ship is looking very tired and needs maintenance. When I was on her in September they were replacing carpets on port days around the ship which was good to see and it was long overdue. I don't think I saw a stain-free chair or carpet anywhere on the ship when I was on her.
  2. when you connect to the wifi, go to connect.com in your browser to log in to the plan (or buy a plan if you need to buy one).
  3. typically yes but if you go at odd times like around 3:30 they won’t be quite as fresh. Not cold or anything just not hot and steamy from the grill anymore. Still good but like most food it’s so much better the fresher it is
  4. It's all I buy at home - they're perfectly fine - but they are nothing like the fries they used to have.
  5. Burgers themselves are just as good as ever provided you get a fresh one - not as many toppings offered - fries are just Ore Ida tossed in taco seasoning.
  6. If you are VIFP Platinum or Diamond, or have FTTF, you can open that access door and drop your carry-ons off in your cabin. Personally, I am the same way. The only time we rush to get on the ship early is if we're flying in that morning and were in town anyway (or checking out of a hotel nearby). Otherwise, we aim to get to the pier around Noon or 12:30. The terminal isn't as busy, by the time we do muster and eat our rooms are ready. There just isn't much going on around the ship until sail away anyway.
  7. Wow. I'm sure that happens rather often in the Florida Strait. I just assumed they were doing maneuvers to kill time when I first saw this thread. There's usually a lot of buffer time built in to the average cruise itinerary. My last cruise you could see on the map the next morning how we literally went in circles a few nights.
  8. You are imagining a scenario that is not happening in this thread.
  9. Adding USB ports won't increase revenue so Carnival won't do it. They won't touch the staterooms on their existing ships unless they can figure out how to install Casino games in there.
  10. Are you going to be incapacitated between now and when you go on your cruise? Why can't you get it renewed before.
  11. What ends up happening is someone posts wrong information just trying to be helpful. It is better that people do their own research than expect spoon feeding. Granted for power outlets it's small potatoes but the number of times people post on here asking about embarkation documents and get wrong information in replies is staggering.
  12. I don't think anytime dining even exists on Disney does it? I know the buffet isn't open during dinner.
  13. They hold $100 at embarkation, and apply larger holds during the cruise as you spend more. The holds are converted into a charge after your cruise. So nothing is actually charged until you disembark from the cruise.
  14. I like 6 day cruises. That extra day gets you a second elegant night, an extra port stop, etc. Plus you'll be on a newer ship with more options. I like the Freedom and I like 5 day cruises too. But I'd go with newer and more days.
  15. Incidentally it's been my experience for the past several cruises that if at all possible, assuming you check in at around the same time each night - they put you in the same section by default without needing to ask. But - never hurts to stop by the desk and double-check to make sure if it's important to you. My default feeling is "I'd like to be in the same section but I don't want to wait longer to make it happen" so I don't stop by the desk personally.
  16. What I do is I fund my S&S account with my credit card and use my S&S account for all onboard purchases and gambling. And then at some point before the end of the cruise (and once I won't be spending any more, or at least not much more) I go to the kiosk or guest services and pay off my balance with my gift cards.
  17. You can always check in on the app, and then go to the check-in stand at the front of the restaurant and ask to be put in the same section as last night. On Celebration there are several restaurants that are included as part of YTD so you may not want to eat in the MDR every night.
  18. The two terminals are right beside each other, the walk is not really any further than walking from the rear of Horizon to the front.
  19. https://help.carnival.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2822/~/electric-outlets Nearly all your questions are on Carnival's website.
  20. He'd need the Premium plan, if he needs it for more than a day or two, best to buy it for the whole cruise ahead of time. If this is an Alaskan cruise, beware there are times when the internet does not work due to how far north you are.
  21. They ask everyone and still I bet there are a certain number of folks every cruise who have a deer in the headlights look at the desk when they ask for their passport.
  22. No information is missing, you just don't know what is going on I suppose. Carnival reimburses travel expenses when cruises are cancelled outside of the guest's control - that is what happened here.
  23. They just hand the gift card over to the clerk at the guest services desk onboard, or feed it into the sign and sail kiosk.
  24. There is a post he writes once each day and you write your message as a comment to that post. That is the only way he reads messages.
