water and iced tea are free as is coffee, hot black tea, and lemonade, sodas are I think $3 or so apiece. https://www.cruzely.com/cruise-line-drink-package-calculator/
It depends on how badly Carnival wants to compete over there. Right now they are basically giving away those cruises to fill the ships since RCCL decided to re-enter that market.
Absolutely, once I retire or have a few weeks of vacation time to spend for whatever reason, it's definitely something I'm going to do. Of course by then I probably won't be willing or able to sit on a plane for over 12 hours. Haha!
Discover would not stop sending me junk mail and junk emails. I'd get a junk email every day, and a piece of junk mail at least once a week. I ended up cancelling my credit card with them I got so fed up.
Moral of the story - if a company does something you don't like, stop rewarding bad behavior by doing business with them.
I used it once on ecstasy years ago. I got a tepid skunky beer that was half foam that I paid a gratuity to pour myself! To say I felt like a fool is an understatement. I have never even looked at the machines again.
If it was a big problem for Carnival they would have someone at the entrance of the lounge checking for invitations or looking at S&S cards.
If Carnival isn't worried about it, it's fruitless for us to worry about it.
And there's no subsidy (ahem, gratuities) on Australian itineraries so they're even cheaper.
I wonder how much an Australian citizen pays.
It may be a thing where we get a big discount to entice us to fly over. WDW gives decent deals to UK folks for example. So there's precedent in the travel industry for stuff like that.
Basically everything in the fleet older than the Breeze (except the Sunshine, Sunrise, and Radiance as they have been renovated and renamed) will have the wild decor. The wildest decor is up to individual taste, but I think most people would say Splendor is up there.
I can't help but think that people here worry more about the P/D party than Carnival does. If it was a big problem for Carnival they would have changed it years ago, like the promise of rooms being ready at embarkation.
I don't know if they've changed brands or just started making it differently. But it is a good change either way. I am not fancy at all with coffee - Folgers or McDonald's is absolutely fine for me!
once you hand them the money you lose control over where it goes. All you can do is hand it to who you want to have it. What happens after that is what it is.
What I do is I fund my S&S account with a credit card, and at some point before the end of the cruise I visit guest services or a kiosk and pay off my balance with the gift card(s). That way I only use the amount I need from the cards.
I thought about that but Carnival Holiday may be a little too generic for Carnival...thinking search engine optimization...and can people spell Tropicale and Festivale properly?
You can use Carnival gift cards for anything.
The easiest way to do this will be to fund your S&S account with a credit card during check-in. And at some point before the end of the cruise, visit guest services or a kiosk and pay off your balance due with your gift card(s). That way your credit card won't actually be charged (or will only be charged for whatever you owe above your gift card balances).
