  1. Whoa!!! Poor lady. My son fell face first when he tripped around the corner of one of those sun chairs too. You have to be careful walking up on those decks with all of the sun chairs. It happened in the solarium on the oasis. Thankfully, he was able to get up and keep on moving.

I hope the woman is OK and I'm sure she was thankful that you're there for her. So sad about you missing your reservation though. What a bummer.

  2. I am on Oasis right now. We bought the 3 restaurants specialty dining plan. The kids were offered the same foods. They had smaller portions at chops but had the same size portions that we had at 150. They don't get a typical 'kids menu' that's you typically find on land

I will have to call RCI when I get back about the billing bc they overcharged and then credited and charged again on this 3 meal package. [emoji15]. It's not making sense to me and I can't seem to get a good answer from many on the ship. It's frustrating.

  3. I am going to book a spring break cruise for the family next year. Planning on doing this today, while at sea. We have now done Oasis, have Harmony booked for Christmas. I am looking at Spring break next year.

The Allure has a warm itinerary that isn't entirely duplicative of what we will have already done. The ship is similar to Oasis and Harmony from what I can gather though. Not horrible but something new would be nice.

Anthem would be a new layout or different type of ship. That's the positive. Wondering about the itinerary though. https://secure.royalcaribbean.com/cruises/8NightBahamasCruise-AN8BH006?currencyCode=USD&sCruiseType=CO

Wondering if we will be wearing coats and warm clothes a lot, as I will be leaving cold weather in the Midwest. Looking for warm summery weather.

Not sure if Anthem is following this route right now and if anyone can comment on this. Warm weather is the priority. Ships and itinerary are secondary priorities. TIA.

  4. Just last week Verizon Wireless released "Wi=Fi Calling". You need a iPhone 6 or newer and IOS 9.3. I am not sure how it would work on a cruise ship with Voom and would like to know if anyone is going to use it. It would be nice to stay in touch with family on the Anthem.

Verizon Wi-Fi Calling allows you to make and receive calls over a Wi-Fi network if cellular is not available.

The benefits of Wi-Fi Calling include:

It's included at no additional charge with your existing voice plan and compatible device.

You can make and receive calls in Wi-Fi using your phone number.

Wi-Fi calls to US numbers are free, even while traveling internationally.

Video Calls no longer require an LTE connection to be initiated in Wi-Fi.

Interesting. That would be nice not only at sea, but in areas where phone coverage is spotty, such as some rural areas. I have used FaceTime audio to call from sea to the US which has been nice. ThAt said, his new option should essentially allow you to call anyone , landlines included, from at sea. I'm at sea now, using Voom. I haven't experienced this yet, but I haven't tried to make any calls unless it's a FaceTime Audio call to another iPhone back on land.

  5. For what it's worth, I was at the Windjammer on oasis this morning for breakfast. I noticed salmon in the Windjammer as well. It was at the same counter as the eggs that were ready to go. There was mackerel as well. This was all by the fried eggs and omelettes in the windjammer

  6. I am currently on oasis of the seas with my family which includes three children. One of the things I was concerned most about was how I was going to keep in touch with my kids. I purchased the two for one sale with the go voom Internet. Essentially I received four devices for the price of two. Since our whole family has iPhones, I have found it to be extremely helpful. We have been text messaging each other and FaceTime audio calling each other throughout our time on the ship. There've been a few times where we don't get service, but for the most part it has been incredibly reliable and has allowed me to keep in touch with my family as we are arranging meet up points. It sure beats the walkie-talkie option.

  7. I printed my documents yesterday. Only one luggage tag printed, I know I can get more at port but can I also print another at home? The website went down after that so I couldn't check. Also, maybe this is silly, but how do you attach those tags?

The luggage guys at the pier have a small stapler to put the forms (which you print out at home) on your luggage. I printed extra copies, put my name on it, and folded it. They did the rest.

  8. We have a party of five moving to Port Everglades today. I'm thinking it would cost less to take Uber to the port instead of the hotel shuttle. I know there are rules about uber picking you up at the Everglades, but I'm wondering if they can drop you off there. And I know there may be a fee associated but I know an approximate price of that fee? Thank you

  9. We are boarding the Oasis tomorrow and I'm curious about the quality of wine with in the premium package. If you were to buy the wine at the grocery store, do you think the wines are typically nine dollar a bottle wine or $20 a bottle types of wine?

I've been searching online to find feedback from other people but I haven't found any posts regarding how good the wine is included in this packages.

  10. I was at the Blue Hole last week with Courtney Taylor tours. Unfortunately we were very disappointed. It was VERY busy!! There had to be about 12 vans or more. We felt like herded cattle; our guide pushing us along line ups to wait to jump in the water. $15 plus tip for 3 jumps! Many reports said it was a great activity for all ages, but the children (9 & 12) and seniors in our group found it too scary to jump. We did not have time to enjoy the beautiful surroundings but we pushed along and hurried out. We traveled from Falmouth, and it took about 2 hours to get there; much more than I was expecting. I was really looking forward to the Blue Hole and I'm a traveler who tries to look for the positive. I am not usually negative about activities, but I'm afraid we did not enjoy this excursion.

Thank you. I am going to Falmouth next week and have been going back and forth re: doing Blue hole. It looks fun, but the crowds over spring break (myself included ) makes me wonder if it will feel super crowded there. I also didn't want to drive for an hour and a half. I may reconsider going. Thanks.
