  1. Does anyone know how the Promenade coffee is? I am not a complete coffee snob, but I do love my Starbucks (plain black coffee usually). I have heard that the complementary coffee isn't that good. I'm wondering if I should upgrade my premium drink package to the highest level so I can have some good coffee. I don't want to pay though if it isn't Starbucks quality... thoughts on Promenade coffee?

  2. I've cruised Oasis (2) and Allure, and found that table for 2 gets served much faster. Average time for my meal is in the 1.25-1.30 hrs on any night, assuming you are seated when MDR opens up. Specialty restaurants is a bit longer.

We have a few nights reserved for spec. restaurants. If it's on 'formal night' in the dining room, I am presuming the menus in the specialty restraints remain the same and they don't switch it up for formal night. Correct?

  3. I forgot what I read a while ago. I have a family w/teens & tweens going on Oasis soon. I think I recall reading that you can use the ship's beach/pool towels, but if you lose them, you pay. Is that correct? I'm wondering if I should just bring my own beach towels so I don't have to worry about someone stealing our towel or my boys forgetting where they put theirs.

If you use RCI's pool towels, how are they? Do they fit a normal body or are they a typical small towel? Thank you.

  4. No discounts apply since you have to pre-purchase before you board. Just purchased mine for March 26th on the Oasis, 4 devices for $210.00 instead of the $250.00 on board with the C&A discount.

I must have put too many of those offers in my basket b/c it was $400 (or so). I'm going to redo it this time. I have the same email. I was hoping to spend the $250ish for four devices and not $400.

I received the same email for Oasis on March 26th.

  5. Thank you for the projection on the number of people. I think we are there March 31. It's good to know that it isn't at the most crowded level possible.

Also, thank you for the tip on other things to do while we are there. If they are all crowded, snorkeling sounds like a pretty good option. I was trying to avoid Mr. Sanchos. Since we have teenagers with us, I was hoping to not be in an area where all of your drinks are included on the beach. People will be having a Ton of fun with that and I would prefer to not have my tweens and teenagers there for that.

  6. Thank you. I think I was confusing it with Nachi (sp?) beach. Good to we'll give this one a try first and then head down to Sanchos if Paradise is full. I have no idea how many cruise ships are coming in, but I'm ready for it to be pretty darn busy. Thanks.

  7. You mentioned that this was a Christmas cruise. I assume this was a very busy travel week? I'm looking at going there over Easter break which is another busy time of the year. Were the crowds crazy in this area or was it somewhat manageable and not feeling like a ton of people crowded into a small little hole area? I'm interested in going but I don't want to go if it is going to be swarming with people. Let me know your thoughts. Thank you.

  8. We are going to Cozumel during spring break from our cruise. I would like to do Paradise Beach but I'm concerned that they will be full by the time we get there. If we try that first and they are full, can we take a cab to Mr. Sanchos? Are they anywhere near a child or that it would not be crazy to try the first place and then the second place? I'm worried Paradise Beach will be all full since it's spring break.

  9. We just surprised my teens and tweens at Christmas time. I wrote down a bunch of clues on a different note cards (zip line, all you can eat deserts, pool, beach, carousel... and anything else that had to do with a cruise that sounded fun). I had them all read the cards, taking turns. When we ran out of cards, I gave them the final cards (Labadee, Haiti, Fort Lauderdale, Cozumel) and told them to read each one. I told them to decide which adventure they wanted (let them choose a few from the first pile of activities) and then choose a destination. They eventually chose what they thought they could choose and then I gave the final card of "everything... We're sailing Oasis of the Seas in March" notecard. As they read that out loud, I got music to play on cue "Hot hot hot". They were thrilled.

  10. I always print the pages of the cruise contract that has the contact numbers for RCI and passport/visa emergencies. If there's a page showing how many beverage packages were purchased, I print that too.

Thanks. I'll have to find that list of numbers. Glad to know I'm not needing to make more calls to fix things. I always get nervous about making sure I have the right documents before traveling.

  11. I am sailing Oasis in March. I have 2 rooms and two reservations numbers (5 people). I attempted to print my "Set Sail" pass and it's not showing everyone. Even with both reservations being printed, I am missing two people on my Set Sail Pass. I called RCI, they told me to check a week before we go since there is a glitch in the system. He also told me that I can have them print Set Sail Passes the day of boarding. Does this sound right to you? I shouldn't expect any major obstacles, should I?

I am printing my luggage tags. I have passports. Is there anything else I should print?

Lastly, a while ago, I remember reading somewhere that I should be certain that the names on some document (which one??) are identically matching the names on the passports. Which document should I be reviewing to make sure we have a total match? I am expecting them to match, but I want to double check so we don't have any issues boarding.

Is there anything else I should prepare with regards to documentation? TIA

  12. I have read on other posts about theme parties that people have had on Oasis. Glow parties, 80s parties, and other themes. Ideally, I would like to plan accordingly by packing the right stuff (we leave in March). Is there any way I can find out what parties/themes are going on so I can pack the right way? I have 3 teens/tweens and they may want to participate in these events. I am not creative, so I am not one of those people that can whip together a theme with my limited luggage that I am packing. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

  13. Yes you can purchase. I always buy through insuremytrip . Com. I like CSA or John Hancock personally... It will not however cover pre-existing conditions or cancel for any reason nor will it cover carrier financial default... Otherwise travel delay, emergency medical and baggage etc is covered... Do the compare side by side for the plans you are interested in...

Thanks. I was looking at Insure my trip. There seem to be so many options. I emialed them for support but I didn't hear back. I am looking for insurance like you mention above. I'm worried about weather/flight delays causing a problem in travel. I'm not worried about health issues.

How do you even begin to shop for insurance on this site? It's overwhelming.

  14. Has anyone with teens taken Oasis recently? I thought I remember seeing some glow parties/white parties for teenagers, where the child wears white and the party has glow lights. It may have involved glow bracelets and stuff... not sure. I would ideally like to plan for this (and bring my own glow sticks) if this is still something they do. Thoughts? Is this old school or do they still do this? Thanks.
