That's the old version. When you update the app to the newest version, hitting the calendar icon brings up a selection calendar. So, in essence, you have 2 day-by-day selectors, and no scrolling option.

I'm glad I haven't updated! We are nearing the end of our 28 day cruise - my cheese would also have been grated with the new version...

We have a cruise booked in November and I opened the app today and noticed a new format under my itinerary. It used to allow you to scroll along the days of the cruise to see what you've booked. Now that is not the case. Has anyone else noticed this change? TIA

Try hitting the little calendar icon to the right of the grey box showing the date/location when viewing "My Itinerary". It should toggle between viewing formats.

  3. I went to "All That" last night on the Nieuw Statendam and thought it was OK. Three singers and five dancers. The singers were good IMHO. I am not a big fan of dance numbers, but they were enjoyable too. All the numbers were song & dance but a couple were somewhat comedy sketch-like.

Seemed like an overall improvement to me.

Let’s say I buy the $500 gift card and use it to purchase onboard credit. I am the primary person in the cabin but have 3 others share the cabin. Would the OBC be applied to the cabin or just to myself? In other words, could the $500 be used to help pay for everyone’s gratuities in the cabin?

If everyone in the cabin has separate accounts (separate CCs as @Nodakboiler described), you could use gift cards to buy OBC for yourself and "gift" OBC for your cabinmates to cover the gratuities.

Iv’e been questioning this; is it OK that I still keep posting from our different cruise  line experience to a Hal audience?

The best decision we made is not let loyalty decide your cruise line decisions but what works to recharge. The experience!

Our experience with Hal has been fantastic and we love the Hal Community.
    Love the Daily. Bruce

First off, on this thread you are not posting to "a HAL audience", but to to a group of friends (even if many of us have never actually met). Lots of folks post here about their lives that have little to do with HAL and cruising. I think we all enjoy hearing about all the ups and try to comfort about all the downs. Your posts from the Azamara Onward fit with this IMHO.

Secondly, learning about other cruise lines and ports from folks we can trust is very valuable. Keep it up!

  6. I had problems trying to pay for our upcoming cruise with gift cards online in early January. I think others have had issues too.

I was able to enter the gift card info no problem but I could not proceed without also entering credit card information. Upon completing the transaction, everything was charged to the credit card and nothing to the gift cards. I was able to call HAL and straighten it out and they indicated that it was a "glitch" in there system (I'm shocked, shocked I tell you!) that they were aware of. I don't know if it has been fixed yet.

I was subsequently able to apply gift cards to dining, excursion, and OBC purchases for the cruise (only 5 days, 8 hours and 28 minutes from now!) online with no problems.
