Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Sorry - adding the quote I was referencing.....
  2. That is our concern as well once you leave YC. It's also the feedback our TA has gotten from previous guests - especially on sailings less than 7 days on MSC.
  3. Thank you for providing the email address for the executive office some pages back. I did email them my disappointment and displeasure with the new "test" policy. I advised that if the policy was changed to allow vaping in the casinos, we'd be looking for a new cruise line. They sent back a prompt but "canned" reply thanking us for the feedback. We've been on one Holland America cruise. We found that they allow smoking in "designated areas" in the casino. We went to the casino on the first night and never went back. There was no escaping the smoke. It was our first and last Holland America cruise. Otherwise, we loved their "Club Orange" experience, the service, food and the Music Walk. Smoking was a deal breaker.
  4. I'm very interested in knowing if Celebrity is considering a change to allow vaping or smoking in the casinos. The fact that the casino is non smoking is something we really enjoy. We were on a recent Holland America cruise and they had a designated smoking area in their casino. Our clothes reeked and the air smelled. After one visit, we didn't go back.
  5. Thank you for the feedback and sharing your experiences with other itineraries.
  6. This thread has been so helpful. We're also booked on the Apex 12 Night Arctic Circle trip in July of 2024. We've sailed on the Apex and we really love the ship. In addition, the July 2nd cruise date works well for us. However, after reading the other posts, are we making a mistake by not looking for an itinerary that stops in Geiranger? Especially if cruise ships won't be able to stop there after 2026. We almost always cruise Celebrity but we did just take our first HA cruise on the New Statendam last November. We still prefer Celebrity, but we would definitely cruise on HA again. I'd welcome any further input. Thanks!
  7. I had the same issue. I tried it on my laptop and my iPad. Very frustrating. I must be doing something wrong. I finally gave up.
  8. We're taking our first cruise with HA in two weeks. We've been loyal Celebrity passengers but they're prices lately have prompted us to look into other options. We have the "Have it All Package" and plan to upgrade to the Elite Package which I understand we can't do until we get onboard. My question is, if we order a glass of wine or cocktail that is over the $15 do we pay the difference or the full drink price? We've seen conflicting information online. Also when calculating the $15 total, does that amount include the gratuity so we need to stay under $13 per drink? Thank you for any assistance!
  9. We have been increasingly disappointed in the low end wine and spirits being offered on the “premium” package. In April, it was so bad on the Edge that there were no bottles of Pinot Noir offered in the Retreat Lounge and only Cherry Tart offered by the glass in all the bar venues. The best Pinot Noir offered by the glass was the Kendall Jackson in specialty restaurants and Luminae. For my DH there wasn’t any Caymus Cabernet or Mer Soleil at any venue on board. The bourbon choices were even more pitiful. We noted this on our post cruise comments but I don’t think Celebrity cares. As a result, in July, we’ll be bringing our two bottles of wine on board. I only wish we could bring more as two bottles won’t last very long! We’re also researching other lines to see if they’re having the same issues and if not, we’ll be trying another cruise brand.
