Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. I second what CWN said about the grocery store. Like the old fashion general store. The 5 gallon buckets of freeze dried soup as you walk in, to the gallon jugs of spices, the hardware next to the guns and ammo next to the yarn and fabric! I am a knitter and love saying "I made this with the yarn I bought in a Greenland grocery store, the yarn was next to the guns and ammo".
  2. And we will be flying domestic for just about the longest domestic route possible. Florida to Alaska. Sad to say our Sunday will be a port day, so no caviar. Hubby won't spring for the upgrade to comfort+.
  3. So from reading the responses I am guessing the amenities list is not a list but a suggestion of perks that may or may not be available. Being a long time cruiser I understand that seas and mechanical issues can affect the ports of call. Everything will be a surprise if we receive it or not.
  4. I am not wanting to dine with the officers. I was tasked with trying to figure out what night father in law might be invited so the rest of the family will not make reservations at a specialty restaurant. Thanks Pcardad for the information.
  5. Thanks, I was just wondering what the "usual" date was. There are 8 of us traveling and I have been delegated to answer everyone's questions since the others have never cruised before.
  6. My question about dinner reservations for the Grand suite, will the person in the grand suite be able to book a table for 8 (the rest of us commoners are in concierge suites) in the specialty restaurants?
  7. There will be a total of 8 of us traveling. Father in law will have a grand suite, the rest of us will have concierge suites. We are trying to get everyone's schedules together so we can decide what restaurants to make dinner reservations. Was wondering if there is "usual" day for the meal with the senior officer. Maybe the second sea day or other? I am guessing that with 8 of us it will be difficult to get specialty restaurant reservations at one table. Would it be easier for the travel agent to make the reservations or husband use the booking number for his Father since he has a grand suite? Our first time cruising with Regent so I have been appreciating all the helpful hints on this board.
  8. Daveokc yes it was a free automatic upgrade. I learned my lesson and won’t allow auto upgrades ever again.
  9. I won't take an aft cabin between the ash that fell over everything on the chairs and tables and US when using it to the basketball games done with the deck chairs at 11 pm and 5 am. The crew bounced the chairs around over our heads. I would take an inside room over that room again.
