  1. I have been on Celebrity Millennium, Summit, and Equinox - I can say quite definitively that Celebrity is not geared towards kids. Not much at all for them. The clientele is mostly 50's and up, my guess. The food is very good. The Edge does look beautiful, but again not sure what will be on board for kids. Sometimes the itinerary itself makes the trip.

  2. I am following this thread because I am sailing MSC Seaside in Jan 2018. Just some info concerning another cruise line and not informing booked guests about a themed cruise prior to cruising... last year we cruised on celebrity equinox...I believe it was either a third or a half of the cruisers belonged to a cult (sorry but it is) called "Abraham Hicks." Ruined our cruise. They were EVERYWHERE. The thing we loved most about cruises was doing our own thing, everyone doing their own thing. Not this cruise. We had no idea prior. I emailed customer service with my displeasure after the cruise - they said sorry, but they don't feel it's necessary to let other guests know prior due to privacy. What about my privacy? Needless to say, if I know there is a themed cruise, I wouldn't go on it. Problem is, not knowing.

  3. I saw a review of this recently, and it looks a bit rustic where you get food and drinks, and that the snorkeling wasn't that great. So I am torn between this and a resort for a day, but that is pricier, plus we have done that 2 years in a row at the British Colonial Hilton in Nassau, which is nice but small beach area.

  4. hmmm...I don't have Facebook. How far out does it go? We are booked for Jan of 2019, are there any groups? Being on a cruise with a large gathering left a bad taste when we experienced it on the Celebrity Equinox in March of 2017... very large group of "Abraham Hicks" attendees. I'd never heard of it and my guess is many haven't..you'd have to look it up. I was told nearly 1000 on board...not sure if true, but sure seemed that way.

  5. Hello - this is an old thread but...wondering the latest reviews of paradise cove versus paying for a resort for a day in Freeport. I'm not the best swimmer and wonder if it's difficult swimming out to the reef at paradise cove. Looking for advice on best place to do some easy snorkeling and relax on the beach with some drinks and food. Cruise is in June 2018. Thank you in advance!

  6. Hello all, this is not necessarily an msc directed question, however - what is the earliest flight one would book if leaving from the Port Canaveral cruise port and going to Orlando airport? June cruise. Also, how is Go Port Canaveral for transportation? Thank you for your advice!!

  7. Booked on Seaside YC Jan 2019. Reading reviews like a champ. I am going back and forth whether to keep the cruise or not, luckily I have time to keep researching. I get that there are issues with new ships, but some of the issues sound pretty bad, like the smell on deck 5 - is that even healthy? Obviously there's a problem. No service - that's another problem. I have been on a cruise where I had a butler - didn't need him - but I do like my cabin cleaned daily, and not by myself. I go on a cruise so I don't HAVE to clean! I booked MSC YC because the price was way better than NCL Haven ( have not been on.) Even though I would be in YC, I don't like the thought of being on a ship where outside the YC it's overcrowded and smells bad - because we will of course venture out of the YC. That is more a place where we can escape the crowds - but I don't want to feel like I can't even leave it. At the same time, I am hesitant to cancel because I think the opportunity to be in YC for the same price as say a Celebrity cruise would be nice. Decisions! Thank you to fellow CC members who give such informative reviews.

  8. Had filet mignon the first night in the MDR and it was outstanding. Great service in the MDR. But we mostly ate at the oceanview buffet, so many choices and very good. The carved meats were very good - chicken and turkey on certain nights. Get there at 6 before it's all just sitting around forever. Excellent pizza - thin crust. Ate at Sushi on 5 one night, very good. The Mast Grill (near the pool) has very good burgers. (TOO good.)
