I agree as I have been in 4 Viking river cruises and they have all been wonderful and the best was Egypt last month. richard

No explanation and I spoke again with them today. One could surmise from all of the posts that they are running low on operational cash flow and could not pay for hotels on front and back end of trip much else the ship. I should have known better since the airline tickets (saw receipt on delta) alone were $16,000 and the entire trip only cost me $19,000. Too good to be true usually is. Wish I had paid by cc rather than check. Richard.

Yes delta is still showing our tickets. I told my wife we should show up at the airport and see if we could still fly first class to Madrid. She is squeamish but what the heck. I am packed and ready to go. Madrid looks like a great city to visit. Should have gone last year richard

Douro river cruise with 3 nights in Madrid and 3 nights in Lisbon after cruise on serenity

I was just called and my May 12th cruise also cancelled one day before departure. They would not say anything other than vantage had cruise operational issues. I assume that means they have run out of money to operate most cruises and I had first class airline tickets that just vanished. They made me think they would redeposit $18,000 in my checking accounts. We shall see but not holding my breath. Will probably file complaint with my attorney general’s office here in Mississippi as that is what Massachusetts attorney general indicated we should do if not residing in state where vantage located.

We used go to Africa dot com and had a terrific safari in Kenya and Tanzania but they go everywhere in Africa. They were half the price of a and k and included internal air everywhere richard

Have you had any problems and was the hotel okay and how is the ship and excursions so far. Please update if you can as we depart for Madrid Friday thanks richard rehfeldt

You may have better luck e mailing them with the e mail address they sent everyone a week ago as they answered me within 2 hours each time. richard

Sent e mail to vantage this morning and I now have tickets for delta all the way to Madrid and returning home and have already gone in and change some seats. Looks like we are going to the Douro richard and Kim Rehfeldt

I believe there is someone on this thread who is scheduled to leave for Lisbon on the 5th. Have you received airline tickets that have been ticketed yet? We are scheduled to leave on 12th to Madrid and still no tickets. richard

Sent an e mail to vantage in regard to my Douro cruise May 12th and they responded within an hour and advised I would receive travel documents 7 days prior to departure fingers crossed richard and Kim Rehfeldt

Yes it has. We had a total of five cruises cancelled during Covid and are finally catching back up with our credits. Used our last Viking credit to visit Egypt last month and used our last Oceania credit to visit South America and Antarctica in January and using our last silver seas credit on a cruise to Alaska next June. As are we as the trip looks fabulous and really want to visit Madrid and sail down the Douro richard

Our flights to Madrid on May 12th were also pulled and our return two weeks later from Lisbon have also been pulled from airline web site. Talked to vantage before their phones went down and was told they would re book by tomorrow. We shall see. I am still hoping that what they are saying thru their e mails are correct and true. richard

We can hope that is all it is. Fingers crossed as I was really looking forward to our cruise down the Douro and we have been with vantage on 3 other trips and highly rated all three experiences richard

I have experienced same as you. My air tickets were supposed to be ticketed last week at the 30 day mark but were pulled for no reason. My cruise on the Douro leaves in less than 3 weeks. No tickets, no website and no phones. Help,,,,,,,, richard rehfeldt

It is my understanding that silverseas just cancelled all cruises to Japan for the year and are offering fcc or money back and 15 percent off another cruise if booked by august Richard
