See, I haven't done either a med cruise or a TA, so that's good info.
The timing is ish...I can only take 14 days off of work. But I might be able to wiggle some more time off.
-
I've always felt that I'd like a TA after a Med cruise, because I'd need to recover from the Med cruise.:)
Does one really need recovery after a cruise? 😁
-
or both in a GS.
What, a b2b doing a Mediterranean and then the TA on Harmony?
-
Why not do the Harmony TA?
I didn't even think of that! Derp.
-
See, I'd rather go with less passengers, but hubby really wants to do the Mediterranean on the Harmony since it's a brand new ship. I do like the idea of a GS though. He wants to do an OS if we do the TA.
-
So I posted on here awhile back about doing the TA on the Brilliance in October, and we've narrowed it down to that sailing or going out of Barcelona on the Harmony in a GS. Thoughts?

You have a dubious source
............and a truly horrific writing style.
Amen. Proofreading is a beautiful thing.

You Monday morning Quarterback's should stick to second guessing the Panther's playcalling.
You have no idea what information the ship had on this system.
Believe it or not- some storms are unavoidable. Also, sometimes conditions change. Sometimes it is for the better, and sometimes they deteriorate. If they were given information about the storm and it predicted 50 knot winds and they intensified, that is not the fault of the Captain.
Sure- you may be D+members or whatever but you're not a master mariner with YEARS at sea nor do you have the same information they had.
Before you call for the Captain to walk the plank perhaps you should know all the facts.
Exactly. Storms can happen with little to no warning. Look at RCI's track record as well-how often do they skip ports due to adverse weather? Do you REALLY expect them to go through a storm like that if it could have been avoided?

Start in Southampton, go to Ireland/Scotland, end in Denmark.

I think it's mostly because of competition.

We did the Serenade almost 3 years ago. It's a great ship; not too big and not too small.
-
That's what makes it fun
We both really love trivia. We had a really good team on our cruise before last.
-
Yeah we would plan on coming into Barcelona 2 days early. Before the Alaska cruise last year we did a cruise on the Serenade, and we both really liked it. I personally like smaller ships, but we like the Oasis too. We're still talking it over but it's between this TA and cruising the Harmony.
-
My husband and I would give you all a run for your money on trivia. 😜
-
Yeah Air 2 Sea is pricing out a bit better than going through the airlines themselves.
-
I'm getting a quote from my travel agent for $1400 for us both, which is a REALLY good price, but the airfare is really expensive. I'm still shopping around for air.
-
I'd love to do a back to back like that, but I'm not going to get more time off work than I'm getting. But that'd be amazing!
-
That's a really good thing to know, about the prices that is. I'm not horribly worried about sea sickness because neither myself or my husband get motion sickness. I always pack some queasy drops and Dramamine just in case.

Hey folks! Last year my family and I did Alaska for the first time and loved it. This year my husband and I are thinking of doing the Brilliance on Oct 17th. We've never done a TA before; what are they like? I know there's not as many ports, obviously, but I'm sure there's other things going on to make up for that. I'm just curious to see what kind of experiences you've all had.

Call the Crown & Anchor desk and ask them to contact the Access (special needs) desk. Had to do this for my cousin once, they were really great and got us everything we needed.

Alaska, Southern Caribbean, and NZ.
24 hour holds
in Royal Caribbean International

Only TAs can do courtesy holds. I think there can be some extenuating circumstances though.
