  1. Go to Holland America website and log in. Your cruise will display under My Bookings. Tap Arrange Flights and Transportation . Tap Travel Planning. Tap Flights. Enter your departing airport. This will enable you to view, change, cancel your current flights.
  2. Yes. You'll get whatever obc is associated with that fcd for your previously booked cruise, assuming you're not beyond final payment.
  3. Have you checked HALs FlightEase? Since you're already booked, just access the site, tap on the 3 horizontal lines at the top right of the screen, tap Already Booked, tap Manage my booking, log in, tap travel planning, tap pre and post cruise travel, tap flights. Enter your preferred departing airport. The rest is pretty self explanatory. I will say that summer airline travel has gotten pricey, but usually Flight Ease has better prices than you get going direct to the airlines, at least for international travel.
  4. The deposit for the HIA price ("Best Value") is refundable. The "Best Price" or "Cruise Only" fare ( ie, no HIA) has a non refundable deposit and states that in the fine print. For example:
  5. What was the date of your Flam stop? The website Cruisedig.com shows QM2 arriving May 13th 2023. https://cruisedig.com/ports/flam-norway
  6. I was on the zuiderdam last month on a 14 day cruise (not in a suite) with HIA including crew appreciation (part of the fare...not added later). I was credited for the 14 cruise days and 14 spending days.
  7. The reality is, since you're a month+ out, the cruise may not be truly sold out. HAL could just have closed new bookings while they assign guarantee cabins. You may see the itinerary open back up in a week or two. But if they've raised the price that much the sailing is pretty full. Have a wonderful cruise!
  8. All the OBC you get from HAL is definitely nonrefundable. Use it or lose it. DH and I were on Zuiderdam last month with a lot of OBC plus HIA including crew appreciation. 2 days before the end of the cruise we got a call from guest services reminding us to use the remaining OBC on our account and suggested the spa or the shops. We knew it was non refundable and had already had planned for some of it, but the call was a good reminder to go do a little retail therapy!
  9. I kind of doubt that. Lido coffee was thin and blah. Pinnacle was robust and wonderful. At least that was what I found on the zuiderdam last month. I'd love to be able to replicate the pinnacle coffee at home.
  10. Does anyone know how the pinnacle brews their coffee or what type of coffee they use? It was wonderful on the zuiderdam last month.
  11. On zuiderdam last month, men wearing shorts were turned away most evenings at MDR. Shorts were allowed only at breakfast and lunch. Oh, at dinner on the first and last evenings shorts were allowed.
  12. You guys were right! HIA posted as 14 days spending in addition to 14 cruise days!
  13. Thanks kazu, travelholics, and cruiserbruce. I'm now cautiously optimistic!
  14. I am not questioning the mariner credits you received. I would be interested in knowing how the HIA was reported on your statement and if it was recorded differently from mine. I'm wondering if each ship records it differently.
  15. Here's a page from our statement. It's hard to see how the Mariner society will assign Cruise days when each day's HIA is listed as "marketing Promotion" and $0.00. If we do get credit for the HIA I will be pleasantly surprised and will come back and report.
  16. DH and I were on zuiderdam for the Panama canal transit last month and had the HIA + crew appreciation as part of our cruise fare. We will probably NOT get any cruise credits for on board spending (other than spending our OBC). Our statement shows a line item of HIA promotion for zero $ for each day of the cruise. I don't know if any other ship is accounting for HIA this way.
  17. You can also book via navigator once onboard. Reservation times are spaced every 15 minutes btw noon and 1pm. Their lunch is wonderful!
  18. I'm currently on the zuiderdam. HAL is not willy-nilly canceling ports. Cortino Nicaragua was canceled by the country. This affects all cruise lines. We found out prior to boarding. Huatulco Mexico was turned into a service call only due to a medical emergency the prior day requiring the ship to divert to a nearby port to off load a seriously sick passenger. The diversion, evacuation ( with zuiderdam medical staff) and re boarding of that medical staff took over 4 hours, putting us in huatulco the next day at approx 1130am. The ship had been scheduled to leave at 2 that day, so it was a short day to begin with. The ship had only enough time to send staff ashore to get the required documention to proceed to Guatemala. While disappointing to miss huartulco, we on board totally agree with the circumstances. God forbid it was any of us in dire need of serious medical attention we would hope the same decisions be made.
  19. On HALs website under your booking, look under Travel Planning, then PrePay crew Appreciation. It should say "(passenger name) has booked crew appreciation", and you will be unable to check the passenger's name or add it to your cart because its already been paid.
  20. Cabin pricing variation is basically location, location, location. Mid ship is more expensive. If there are public venues on the decks above or below a cabin, that cabin may experience more noise. Hence a lower price. Basically all veranda cabins are the same size inside. The exceptions are handicap accessible cabins that have more interior square footage. There are also differences in balcony square footage. Deck 4 on Vista class ships have deeper balconies. Aft verandahs have much deeper balconies. There are a coup!e cabins on deck 4 that have double wide balconies. All of these exceptions are why the square footage can vary.
  21. I just got mine about 2 weeks prior to embarkation. Its assigned.
  22. Flight ease fares aren't available till 330 days (approx) prior to the end date of your cruise. For example, I was just able to search and book my flights for the first time today for a cruise leaving Sept 3 returning Sept 13, 2023.
  23. DH and I are booked for the Nov 17 Panama canal cruise, San Diego to Ft Lauderdale. On HALs website, tap "health protocols" at top of page. Then, under "at a glance", Tap " enhanced health protocols pdf". It will take you to a list of cruises with special requirements. The list only goes to January 3rd. find your cruise and Its enhanced protocol category (mine was 'general'). Swipe to the next page which will describe the protocol for each category.
  24. Per the website, Pinnacle grill is available to book dinner every day of the cruise. Its not even displaying Rudis or the pinnacle gala. This is for the zuiderdam embarking Nov 17 from San diego. Are you possibly on the NA embarking in Oct? Rudis was originally scheduled for nov 22 on the zuiderdam. Pinnacle gala originally scheduled for Nov 28.
