  1. In all of travels in 2023 CC company said they didn’t need to know prior, to travel, which I found strange, but on our last trip to Newfoundland I didn’t tell the company and had no issues so I guess it is not necessary any longer. I agree notifying the bank is a good idea. I will still want a small amount of local currency.
  2. I was considering that in a past trip to Iceland and places in the UK there are often local families with hand crafted items for sale and was assuming they wouldn’t take CC’s but I could be wrong… It sounds as if using local bank ATM’s is a good idea as well.
  3. Can you change money on the ship from USD to EUROS, Krone etc. If so is the exchange rate good or is it better to do this elsewhere and if so what would you recommend? Most big purchases of course would be by CC, but would like to have local currency for smaller purchases.
  4. Awesome, it is nice to have so much covered in advance, so one can just cruise and relaxl
  5. My PCC told me the HIA includes the tip in the Pinnacle restaurant is this true?
  6. July 2024, so I’m guessing that means I will at least be able to send messages, but maybe not call.
  7. Just so I understand this, if the iPhone is in airplane mode you can make a call simply by using the ships star link and FaceTime calling? This would be cool. Is it clear, or does it come and go? Does Zuiderdam have Starlink?
  8. Oh say it isn’t so….. don’t know how I will manage the anxiety. In the past it was often about 18 days out.
  9. I think the far forward signatures on deck 5 are handicapped cabins so I would expect since we don’t need that it would be saved for others?…
  10. I was beginning to feel reassured, but then I heard the words “flooded cabins”, somehow this does not sound like a good thing on a cruise ship! Actually, it does appear my concerns about noise at least have been alleviated, and even way forward sounds fine to me! Glad of the input of others. TY
  11. Sorry,I meant a signature suite guarantee.
  12. Yes that is what I was told, that it costs more to pick a cabin. I wonder if anyone ever felt they had a bad SS cabin?
  13. I have booked a SS guarantee and am now second guessing if I should have just picked a cabin. To be honest, I cheated out cause the PCC told me there was, “no such thing as a bad SS”. Now I am wondering if I should call back, pay more and book. Oh the second guessing…..
  14. I looked up GeoBlue last night and that looks pretty good to me! I feel comfortable with BC/BS. Thx
  15. I like the idea of an annual policy, may I ask where one gets it or is that not allowed?
  16. Menus from the aforementioned restaurants?
  17. Wow thank you. My Dad just passed and we were his primary caregivers so I get worrying about others. I did a very similar cruise with both my parents in2008 and have always wanted to do this with my husband and now is the time! All of your info will be considered. Ty
  18. Thanks Ruth, I use aPCC, and I hope she will be able to explain both as well as you!
  19. Ruth so glad of your reply. We met many years ago and I always appreciate your very practical view point. Why only 90% back? we have never taken insurance but as we age I think it is more important.
