And no Elite/Suite lounge on Sea and Sun Princesses right? But you have it on the Golden, right? Getting ripped off, but whats new? The Americans would not cop it.:loudcry:
But the American market is good for somethings. Our webpage got updated a while back and some things were broken, room categories left off the page all together etc. For two months nothing was done no matter how many complaints from Australian customers they got. Within 24 hours of the new site hitting the US servers the problems were fixed after complaints for the same issues, our site was updated the next day go figure......

Thanks Chez, AU$89 was getting quoted for AIBP on Australian based Princess ships.
They have a $2 discount now.:halo: At the end of the day same as US Princess.
But as Womble says, there is that matter of auto gratuities being 'hidden in the fare, locally on Princess.'
I don't think Princess hides the fact that gratuities are included in local fares Uncle Les, but I am pretty sure they have hidden the extras in the new pricing for the Premier drinks package most likely through sheer laziness. Similar to how they couldn't be bothered to fix the pricing problems on the AU site for how long now? Oh and its still wrong btw ;)
-
'Premier AIBP' as they now call it is US$59.99 plus 15% gratuity on the 'American Princess Ships,' (those not based in Australia.)
To quote an American poster on Princess section of CC..'I would have to drink 12 Vodkas to break even.' :p Fair comment.:p
Though if you convert the $59.99USD to AUD it doesn't come to $86.99, but if you convert the $68.99USD (gratuities added) you get the $86.99AUD. I guess Princess wants us Aussies to pay our gratuities twice now? Now if they had just charged us the price of the package without gratuities (as we have already paid them in our fare) the price would have only gone up to approx $75AUD, still a pretty big rise but not a huge slap in the face!

and here is the crap they told the aussies
(5:50 p.m. EDT) -- In an effort to more closely align itself with industry standards, Princess Cruises has raised the prices and reworked the offerings for its alcohol-inclusive beverage package.
Formerly known as the All-Inclusive Beverage Package, the cruise add-on, now called the Premier Beverage Package, will cost US$59.99 per person, per day -- up from US$52 per person, per day -- plus 15 percent gratuity. In Australia, the new price is AU$86.99 per day including gratuity. (For more details on Australian pricing, see our note below.)
It is an interesting solution they have come up with for the Australian market. You take the US price with gratuities added and convert it to aud and make that the price. Only draw back I can see is that the gratuities are already included in the fare for the Australian market so the are charging them twice? If it was just the $59.99USD converted it would be closer to $75AUD not such a price hike.

I am curious to see if those who have already prepaid for the AIBP online get a refund for the difference between the $59 and whatever the dodgy website conversion charged them at the time? Or will Princess make a nice little extra claiming it is now $89? Most people would have been charged between $79 to $84 on the personaliser anyway (it is now $90 to $96 btw so the dodgy conversion seems to be a little closer)
-
So at least something hasn't gone up yet.........
-
I am onboard the Golden now.....yes the AIBP is $86 AUD.per day....cocktails $13.95 and the drinks in Skywalkers elite/suite etc are $8.50.

I am guessing they also put the price of the soda & more up as well? Do you happen to know what that is now?

Why did you not take advantage of the recent Sip n Sail Promotion? Would have saved the drama and all the moral dilemmas.
Maybe the Sip n Sail promotion was not available to the OP, it isn't available to all regions only the US.
-
Ah yes the tried and true recipe requires a good quality rock, preferably granite. Once tender the granite tastes very good [emoji6]My recipe replaces the ax head with a Galah sized rock.Once the rock is soft, discard the galah and eat the rock.

If a late breakfast is really an important part of your cruising experience then book a suite. The breakfast in sabatinis is open until 10. If the extra cost isn't worth it there is the option of the horizon court. It just depends what is important to you.
-
When in Australian waters it won't have the indoor smoking areas. Would expect the outdoor areas to remain the same as this is what occurs with the other ships that cruise this region.
-
Anyone know the current migration status of Stanley? Has he made it out of Alaska yet? So far I haven't heard of anyone sighting him on any sailings in any other regions or even which ships he is available on as yet?
-
Actually, it is possible for a person under 18 to have enough Princess cruises to be Elite but still only have a blue card, so the color of the card is not always an indicator of how many cruises (or days cruising) a person has.
Tom
True our son will be lucky to hit 13 by the time he reaches elite so that will give him at least another 5 years of blue card bliss.

That has been our experience on golden and emerald the cigar lounges are closed.

Just checking
Golden
Soft serve ice cream and shakes??? check and check (lido near the pool)
I.C.??? International Cafe? check
We have done that Tas cruise from Melb and enjoyed it, only part that was not so great was having Phillip Is last. it was a late departure making it a rushed end to the cruise :(
We have been on the Golden a few times and have enjoyed each trip, both specialty restaurants we found to be pretty good though we wouldn't go frequently. Our preference is the Crown grill, I enjoy the steak and the better half prefers the lobster.

Love it [emoji1] they go missing for a few days on the US site and they manage to fix the problem. They go missing for months down under and they couldn't care less even with repeated requests from multiple sources to have it fixed.Princess has fixed the problem. Window Suites are now visible on their website (at least in the US).The bad news is that it is now easier to find them than before. I liked it when people couldn't find them and they weren't always sold out.
Any chance you guys could get a fault induced into your onboard reservations pricing so they could fix ours [emoji6] would be nice to prepay for an aibp at the right price for once........

The 90 day requirement has been removed from the 2017 shareholder benefit application, you can have it applied for cruises booked within the dates listed in the 2017 shareholder benefit information page.
-
Don't worry it just sounds like the US site has been downgraded to the same version we got in Aus 2 months ago. Enjoy, it has plenty of great new features not just the missing window suites [emoji3].
If it helps our Princess staff in Aus can still see and book window suites on their system but not on the website.
Multiple requests for fixes has fallen on deaf ears down here. Hope you have better luck.

From the shareholder request form.....
Statement should be dated no more than 3 months/90 days prior to the cruise.

Just a quick note, the requirement for the 90 days has been removed from the current Shareholder request form. It does require a current brokerage statement but there is no longer a time limit imposed other than what is outlined here http://www.carnivalcorp.com/phoenix.zhtml?c=140690&p=irol-sharebenefit

It will probably be pretty simple, the medallions engraved with sail dates etc will be supplied to those living in the US. Those who don't will most likely just receive plain medallions.I just stumbled onto this thread, as we are sailing the last cruise before the Medallions kick in, you comment got my attention about them being mailed three weeks before the sail date. "What about those coming from non US countries, we have a few folks sailing that are coming from the UK and from Australia, those from Australia are leaving the middle of Sept for a tour of the US before they get the cruise...five weeks. I wonder how they will handle that.It is too hard to post a cruise atlas to Aus/Nz members I am guessing it will be just as hard to figure out how to send a medallion.
-
We did a nz cruise in Dec 15 and had millpond conditions one way and 1 to 2m swells the other. Yet the cruise before us missed almost the entire south island due rough seas, go figure?
-
How much is it now? What is the maximum number that can sign up?
Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Price of the tour depends where in the world your ship is located, for the majority of people on this board you will be in the US so it will be $150USD. Numbers are limited, normally around 16 but again it can vary by ship (it was limited to 12 on one we did)
-
We had been told on our last 2 cruises that same day service was no longer complimentary for suites by our cabin steward. Needless to say it still came back the same day when the presto box was ticked and no charge to the account as per the norm.
I wonder if they sometimes are newly rotated to suites and expect the perk to be the same as elite?

BTW Sip and Sail isn't always the bargain you think it is. I booked a cruise through a US TA to get the S&S. A few months later the prices dropped so much that when I refared I saved thousands even taking into account the cost of losing the S&S.:*
The sip & sail can be a real bargain depending on what you are looking for. I was watching a 14d NZ cruise on the Golden which was a touch over $800pp aud cheaper for an penthouse suite (after taxes, gratuities and exchange rates). So I guess saving $800 and having the aibp thrown in would make it worthwhile.
It's not like suites go on sale down under either so a price drop is highly unlikely.
But we will most likely never see those sales offered down here, just enjoy the company of those sailing next to you who did [emoji6]
so the AIBP is now the premier package
in Australia & New Zealand Cruisers

Lol you would think that would have made it easy for them, pity none of the cruises I have booked actually list the drinks package at $86.99  3 cruises booked and 3 different prices
I am sure it is 1700 somewhere Uncle Les :halo:
