  1. Is caviar available on the Expedition Ships, specifically the Cloud in Antarctica?

If so, is it only available through your butler and room service, or can you order it in the restaurants or lounges?.

  2. If you have dietary concerns, they will leave for you the printed dinner menus for the restaurants the night before. They ask you to make and  return your choices by 10 am the next day. When you have a reservation in a specialty restaurant, you will only get the menu for that restaurant.

I am lactose intolerant, and this system on Regent has worked very well for me for a long time.

  3. You will not know the evening entertainment until it is posted in Passages the night before. Shows usually begin at 9:30. Every once in awhile there will be entertainment before dinner (which opens at 6:30), for example a Cabaret show put on by one of the Regent Entertainment team in a small lounge. The Crew Capers show is always before dinner, often 2 nights before the end of the segment.

  4. Please read the fine print regardless of which company you use. We used Luggage Forward this year during the world cruise. There are many specific items that can’t be shipped. They also do not allow the use of Air Tags. For domestic flights the luggage must be locked; for international flights the luggage cannot be locked. If they find items that are not allowed to be shipped, they return the luggage to the original shipping site, often not allowing enough time to remove the problem items and re-ship.

We didn’t have any problems, but knew several travelers who did. If you read ahead, and know what the rules are, you shouldn’t have any problems.

  5. BTW, I have talked with many fellow cruisers who “never read the tour stress level ratings when reading info prior to booking an excursion, never read the information distributed in printed form once on board, and never watch the tour descriptions once on board on the television”. This must be SO frustrating to Destination Services.

I know better than to sign up for a 3-person rated excursion. My husband, however, loves them, and is often stunned by fellow passengers who are on these excursions. He has had to help many passengers along the way. Not what he signed up for, but that’s the kind of guy he is.

  6. Horizon view suites decks 8-9, with a shower instead of a tub, are just about perfect!

We are on the WC right now, and tried again for a Horizon view, but couldn’t get it.

Our friends are in one on deck 9. For our sail away from Bora Bora, all of the 9th floor Horizon View suites held a joint cocktail party with open doors to each suite. Fun and a great way to meet fellow cruisers!
