  1. Cannot imagine not having my phone with me.. that goes with the whole group. We use our phone for everything.. copies of tickets (flights), reservations, schedules, alarms, everything you can get in there.  It is now a paperless society, not too much clutter. Also, if you have the latest iPhone, the camera is amazing.

  2. Amazing pictures. At last, pictures of our lowly inside. Watching for upgrades!,

    Thank you so much!,,,,

love the Mexican taco, did not see the “new” offering.. Asian stir fry area. Do you know if there is one on board?

Excited now for our trip. Hoping they improve the entertainment and shows. Otherwise, all we will be doing is eating for the next 11days of our Amalfi trip.

  3. Marylander2, no need to apologize. I am sure you have far more experience than I do with regards to cruising.  However, we have sailed with the people I mentioned and compared rates, and for sure, they are paying less than we do, plus perks!

We do not feel animosity towards this, we are happy that they get these perks, maybe we need to sail more. Just trying to give my thoughts on the reasons for the changes.

  4. I am sure most readers will not like this, but here is my one cent:

Before I start, I would like to make sure that everybody understands that appreciation towards the loyals cannot be understated. Without them, there is no cruising industry.

    But, business is business.

A lot of my friends are in the higher level of the Celebrity/ RC status rating. Guess what, they get the BEST discounts available, allowing to go 3-5 times a year.

The younger cruisers in my group pay top dollars and are able to cruise 2x a year. They do not have loyalty levels because they do not stick to one cruise line. They try everything and not ready to be a “loyal” to one.

This group is what I believe Celebrity is trying to attract.

It is not because Celebrity or any cruise line is trying to ignore their loyals, but that they need to pay the bills. The loyals are still very important to them, as we other passengers acknowledge that. Celebrity is trying to get new passengers to become loyals one day, when they current loyals are enjoying their even wonderful cruises in heaven.

  5. If you don’t start a conversation with them, I am sure they will not stay in your area. It would be nice to see their costumes and makeup. This is their job for the night, we should be respectful as they are trying their best. Let us not tell them to “go away”. If we do not want them, then we should go to another venue.

I agree with Atpx and Freestyle cruiser, I think it will be pretty cool and a conversation piece. Looking forward to seeing it for myself.

  6. Our friends who graduated from RC and moved to Celebrity stayed with Celebrity but joins us when new RC ships comes up. They agree that dining is a notch above RC. Looking forward to that.

Most reviewers mention that Chicago, and most of of the top notch shows in the Oasis class ships are sometimes better than the “Broadway “ version. We love them all especially Mama Mia and Grease...... songs we love. These shows are award winners and to get it without extra charge on our cruise is a big plus. We are from Ontario and we cross the border to watch these shows.

Of course the usual piano bars, jazz spaces should be present for everybody who loves these kind of entertainmen!

  7. Reading thru some of the reviews, most noted that with the new things (decors, activities, etc.)  happening at the EDGE, Celebrity might be trying to target the Millennials, the young at hearts or the DINK (double income no kids) ?!?!

Let me tell you about our group.  We are a family of 30, we love to go on vacation at least 2x a year, we have memberships on 5 star land resorts, and we have been on all Freedom and many times on all Oasis class ships plus a booking on Symphony of the Seas 2020. Tried other lines, but still returns to RC. Most of our family members are married couples under the age of 45, only 4 are over 60.

We do not care about IV's or suites, although, I myself prefer my suite.  Unfortunately, we cannot afford even the IV for the Amalfi cruise Aug 2019. With all the excursions before, during  and after and a trip to France, everything adds up.

We love to eat, so food is important. WE LOVE TO BE ENTERTAINED, which is why we love the Oasis class ships, and we look forward to watching the Broadway musicals offered in our sailings. The group is quite worried about the entertainment reviews and are thinking twice about using the EDGE.  Unfortunately, we have already booked our flights and hotels in Rome and France, so we have to make the most of our Edge trip.

SO THEREFORE, CELEBRITY, if you want to keep the likes if these passengers, please bring in good entertainment.  Offer Broadway quality shows and good activities for the young at hearts.

    Hope you are listening!!!!!

  8. Thank you Kearney, our 11 day, Aug 19, 2019 cruise to Amalfi has no Inside available and the next available rate is OV at +/- 6k CDN per person. This is before our flight from Canada, which is almost  1k. It is dizzying. Upgrade from Inside to OV is almost 1k from the last quote I got. I am hoping it will go down before May 2019. I am not used to either Inside or OV.. but family duty calls..so I will make the most of it!!
