  2. Might be tough before international waters, but a rum punch is possible.
  3. Ship Also Set for Several Carnival Journeys Cruises – Including Carnival’s First-Ever Voyage from Seattle to Hawaii https://www.carnivalcorp.com/news-releases/news-release-details/carnival-cruise-line-opens-carnival-spirit-20242025-cruises
  4. Maybe so you didn't have to pay sales tax on the package?
  5. It seems like I get emails almost daily. A month or so ago, there were cabins available for many sailings this year, but have been booked. Now next year is booking up. As with any marketing gimmick, everything is capacity controlled and limited.
  6. Not sure about that. I cruise on the oldest to the newest Carnival ships and there are always other Diamonds. The longer cruises tend to attract more Diamonds than first time cruisers, but you can't get away from Diamonds on any sailing.
  7. There is no JiJi on Venezia. I had booked Cucina thinking it would roll over into whatever the new Italian place would be, but they cancelled the reservation.
  8. They also don't charge you for day 1. Seems to me that cuts into their profits. Choice is good, though. Pick a cruise line that works for you. Carnival has chosen to keep costs lower. But really, if you have Drinks on Us, you can start getting hammered as soon as the casino opens.
  9. It applies to all cruise lines. Other states don't have similar bizarre laws. Carnival doesn't make the laws, they just have to deal with them.
  10. It is because of taxes and not because of false rumors. Mobile also has a limited menu. Carnival pays tax on the booze on the limited menu. They don't want to pay tax on the entire inventory. They certainly could, and just pass the tax on in higher prices including for Cheers. Texas wants to tax everything. One only has to look at liquor cruisers bring back. Texas wants tax liquor even if not for consumption in Texas. Call it what it is. BS.
  11. Nobody is forced to go. I don't have Free Drinks Everywhere and don't bother going to the P/D party. I stopped being motivated by alcohol decades ago.
  12. It depends. We had a lunch on the final sailing of Ecstasy. The sailing before that, cocktails and nibbles. But a lot of them.
  13. Can't tell with all the shade being thrown.
  14. Who cares? My 100 shares cost me $800. I'm with the Holds. But it does remind me to apply for $500 of OBC for my next 2 cruises.
  15. New York has issues with Cancel For Any Reason "Insurance" in general, which Carnival provides with their package.
  16. Carnival does offer something similar - it's called Princess. Is there no room service on the ship?
  17. I just hate all these cutbacks. 🤣
  18. Cruisers don't seem to have a problem walking to the casino for the $25. On the way they can pick up all the other swag. Or not.
  19. I'm talking about gross tonnage which is a measurement of volume and has nothing to do with the weight of anything.
  20. It seems many people have misconceptions about tonnage. which has nothing to do with the weight of a ship. Higher ceilings will give a ship higher tonnage than a similar ship with lower ceilings yet there is still the same amount of square footage for passengers.
  21. There were out of sync. Perhaps the memo finally got to Holland.
  22. There is/was gale force or higher winds.
  23. They are for real, but don't expect them to last forever, especially as cruising continues to recover.
