Thanks for the info. Our cruise can't get here soon enough.
Sorry about the sail away party not being great. I've read a lot of "not so great things" about Cassie. That won't matter to us as we do our own sail away party anyway. :)
Have an awesome time on the rest of your cruise!!

Failed to mention that there are web sites out there that all they sell are shore excursions. Sometimes you might find something there that Carnival doesn't have listed. And sometimes you might find the same excursion that Carnival has listed, but it's cheaper.

Cruising out of new orleans on the 29th of August. How is the flooded in that area? What if I can't get there? I have a room booked in slidell the day before. I have heard that it is flooding there. And no I did not purchase insurance:(
You'll be fine. My dh was just in Slidell. The flooding was north of Lake Pontchartrain.

How do I go about getting one? Do you just request one?
Yes, you can call and ask for one.
The replacement woman we got is hopeless. She calls endlessly when we have no vacation plans, when we did book she did NOT call pre- or post-cruise to check if she could help/how did it go, etc. I now HATE seeing "CARNIVAL" on the telephone handset.Let her know what your preferences are and that should stop her from calling you so much. Or you can simply switch to a new one and let them know from the beginning that you don't want to be called so much. Then your relationship wouldn't be strained.

Speaking of overthinking, perhaps you are over-reacting to being "quoted".
Many posters hit the quote button out of habit. The poster who did so has already conceded your point.
Speaking of over-reacting. No I don't care if I'm quoted. Doesn't bother me one bit.

Gotcha, just didn't want the OP thinking the two were tied together.
No way to think they were tied together by my reply because I didn't discuss both. Stop overthinking things. ;)

You can still pick your check in time before.
I didn't say anything about picking check in time. It's amazing what you read into my reply. I ONLY commented on the boarding pass part of the question.
-
Boarding passes cannot be printed until the cruise is paid in full.
-
It has to be a "peak" thing or supply and demand. We're cruising in October and our 3rd person rate is peanuts compared to 1st and 2nd.

Directly from the horse's (Carnival's) mouth. :)

Hello all-
I'm kicking myself for not buying the trip insurance the same day I made the initial deposit for our cruise. We typically don't buy it until we pass the 'no 100% refund' date for our cruise, but this time we are traveling with my MIL, who is older and has some health issues. And now I realize, of course, that I can't buy the 'cancel for any reason' or 'pre-existing causes waiver' since I didn't buy the insurance at the time of initial deposit. We'll still be covered for the most expensive stuff such as medical evacuation, and the 'look back window' is short enough we should be fine, but still - if I'd been thinking I would have bought it when I made the deposit. Passing it on so others can learn from my error.
Nationwide Choice Cruise plan has "cancel for any reason" and "preexisting" that allows you to purchase on/before your last payment date.

I had to search to see what you were talking about as I had no idea they sold bedroom linens. :)
The $39.95 price is for each pillow. I put them in the cart to find this out.
As far as the flyer in your room? We sailed the Fantasy in February and didn't get one.

Thanks for the question and answer...I prefer the Celebration Dining Room, and will have to go ATD on one of my trips....I prefer Early Dining, and can still eat early with ATD, but like to be at the same table each night, with same servers....no thrilled as I hated it on my lone NCL cruise.
You can request the same table with ATD.

Are you looking under "Excursions"?

There have been 7 ships every time we've been there, off peak times. At Melia, we just took a cab there.
Even more reason to stay on the ship. :D We've been lucky. On our last cruise, we were playing tag with the Magic and they were the only 2 ships in port for Nassau and Freeport.
-
It was available when I booked our last cruise. I was on the fence about purchasing it. Then it sold out. :( It became available again and I still didn't purchase it. And I guess the third time is the charm, so I snagged it.
My point is, keep checking even if you have to do it everyday.
-
Six ships in Nassau??? I'd stay on the ship and take advantage of the pool. lol

Paradise Cove Deadman's Reef.
For $40 (their price, not the cruiseline excursion price) you get transportation to and from the pier and snorkeling equipment rental. Food is about $8 per person. They give discounts when you bring your own snorkeling gear.
We had the best time and if Freeport were not the last stop on our cruise in October, we'd be doing it again. Our Freeport day is the day before we get off the ship and since we debark early for the loooooong drive home, we don't want to be exhausted.
-
We snorkeled Freeport this past February. Beautiful weather.

I haven't been able to get on the website since Thursday.
Might want to clear your browser history and cache. Or if you are using a link stored in your favorites, it might need to be deleted and re-favorited.

Is anyone else having problems? Never a fan of their website
Nope, no problems here as the site is down for routine maintenance like it says on their page.
"Just undergoing some routine site maintenance so everything that's supposed to zig, zag and zoom does exactly that."
-
Yup - it says sold out on mind. I thought how can that be its 450 days to sailing.
Keep checking very often, if not everyday. More will open up.

Well I could certainly see people randomly making up facts about brown recluse spiders. It could not possibly be people assembling facts and putting them in a reference material site.
How about this one? You know, the science site that says virtually the same thing.
You missed my point. However, that site you posted hasn't been updated in 2 years.
Things happen, things migrate or involuntarily travel. Read the post below yours stating they are in New England.

Definitely check out the deck plans of your ship before making a decision on accepting a particular room.
If you are on board now, you can go to Guest Services. Hopefully, they may have a cancellation and can move you to that room. Don't hold your breath though.
