As Alaskan Joe pointed out you can walk up and request the same wait staff every night. I have done this on more than one occasion and I have also request not to have a certain wait staff due due to various reasons. I consider that a plus.

I haven't and I have seen their promotional to come cruise with them and they look legit. I know on their discussion board there are some reviews that might help.

I am thinking of taking different cooler than my normal cruise cooler which is too big by 2 inches on length. Has anyone ever had security measure their cooler?

I have done this in New Orleans since there is so much right there that you can walk to.

I think you can change to a later date on a carnival cruise for a $50 processing fee plus the change in the fare.... if i'm not mistaken. :-)

I believe Carnival Sunrise as she will be called doesn't come back to NOLA but goes up to Norfolk and then FT Lauderdale so there might be a cost issue.

Panda Bear as I am going out on the cruise right before Dry Dock I think we will be alright. As BoDidley pointed out there will be some things going on but nothing to ruin our cruises.

Possible banging and closed off corridors . Carpet smell and paint smells. More than normal construction crew.

there will be plenty of Carnival Triumph Merchandise on clearance! there should be no issues. We were on the final Destiny cruise and every thing was fine.

So after reading the news that the Triumph will be going in to such a large Dry Dock, I am a bit concerned that I am on the cruise before this happens. What can I expect to be happening in prep on the Triumph?

I tried to find this but wasn't able to. If I am Platinum and traveling with my family but another family member is paying for all the cabins, is Platinum status considered for all.

Would the 8 day Southern route have the same menus?

I think some of it would be the same but the port of call portion of the menu would be different.

While this is the Vista's 8 day menus it should be pretty close to the Horizon and I believe Horizon is taking that route over. I hope this helps as it the one I will be using for my planning

Now part two of the question since it appears that cars are less expensive to rent than golf carts what is the advantage of the golf cart over a car?

Actually you can do this with Bahamas Paradise cruise line you can get on at their port in Fla and travel to Freeport stay at the resort for a few days there and then get back on the cruise ship and come back to Fla.

I am considering cabins for an upcoming Horizon Cruise and I was wondering about noises from Deck 5 being heard in cabins on Deck 6. Anyone have any experience with this?
