  1. Thanks for the tips. We have booked a 3 hr Copenhagen shore trip that covers the highlights and ends up at the airport at midday. They had, 3, 4 and 6 hr tours, lucky for us only the 3 hr was left, and suits the 13.40 flight departure
  2. Sorry, this one... a direct link from your Visit Norway above. i think its a different company to the link you provided in the other 2 . Stavanger Rib Lysefjord Sightseeing to Preikestolen-Stavanger Rib
  3. Hi, I think we have decided to do the RIB Fjord trip rather than the big catamaran due to the amount of passengers. I am trying to book direct, but when I hit English on their website, it still comes up in Norwegian. Does anyone have a link to their site, otherwise a good booking agent? Thanks
  4. Is it possible to drop the luggage and then return later for the check in time?
  5. Hi, sailing Norway coast in June. Unfortunately the ship doesn't return to Southampton, but finishes up in Copenhagen. We have a 2pm flight out of Copenhagen but would like to have a look at the port before leaving, without dragging our big luggage around. Does the ship have luggage storage facilities to use for a few hours? Thanks 😊
  6. Thankyou so much! I will bring thermals , layers and a waterproof jacket etc. I get pretty cold in the wind, especially hands and feet. I have a big puffy jacket I bought in NY when we went there in 2009 because I was so cold, and haven't used it since. It would take up half my bag! We are also spending 3 weeks in Scotland so I guess the rain jacket will come in handy for that too.
  7. Oh gee I just expanded the post above Re:beer
  8. Hi a few questions.! Is there detergent in the free laundry self serve room? What power outlets are there in the cabin (we in Australia).? We booked through an agent here, (cruise in Norway, June) and even though there is a promotion on to receive OBC, our agent said we wouldn't get that because we got a "lead in price" for the cruise. I thought we would have the $300 credit as advertised on the Azamara website when I booked and paid (straight up). Are there any non-alcoholic beers in the complimentary drinks please? thanks!
  9. We are doing a cruise upto the North Cape from Southampton in June. We have limited luggage space, and so are wondering if there is an Op shop or cheaper retail place that we can buy a very warm Arctic jacket (and maybe other things).?? Intending to leave it behind/donate when finished. Failing that we will investigate Southampton stores.
  10. Hi, thanks agian, yes I think there is a typo there with the Trollfjorden times. I will book in the ships excursion I think for Pulpit, as Rodne tours says if we don't dock then there is no refund. Do you think the Skylift in Olden and the Tromso Fjellheisen need to be prebooked? We had thought of the Blue Puffin tour on Tromsoe, as well as the North Cape, but now not sure as its a new tour I dont think been taken much.
  11. Do you think the glacierbus and lift will need to be pre booked?
  12. Hi, do you remember if you had to prebook the little train, or just line up?
  13. Thanks so much , some great ideas, we usually like to spend our money locally rather than the cruise tours, so I will research the suggestions 😊
  14. Just to add, we imagine we can see Bergen by ourselves (long time in port), but we don't go to Flam, so would time permit sightseeing in Bergen plus a trip on the famous train to Flam and back?
  15. Hi, We are cruising to Norway In June and July this year. Going to the following places as per image. We plan on booking the Blue Puffin North Cape tour, but which other ports are better to have transport and guide, rather than doing it ourselves around the ports? Thanks!
  16. Hi. We arrive in Southampton in June from Australia. Doing a cruise to Norway and the North Cape. We haven't room for our big jackets. Is there a thrift shop Op shop We can buy some ? Thanks.
  17. Delving into it further, looks like 2 cards are needed? I wouldn't be eligible for the 28 degrees or the Citibank free insurance, as we have paid for the flights already as there were only a few seats left and we couldn't wait for the card application approval (conditions are that you pay for "flights" or "overseas travel ticket" with the 28 * card/Citibank card). Wespac will give you free insurance if you "prepay at least $500 on your travel costs" on the card so that could work for that, but they charge the 3% transaction fees. I guess that would add up to less than the travel insurance , which looks to be about $700. If we get a Westpac one or similar, would probably need a 2nd card for the free transactions OS. Am I missing something?
  18. Thanks everyone. I think I might go with 28 degrees for paywave purchases and have my Visa debit card as backup if we get any cash and just pay the 3%. I never carry cash these days.
  19. So, I wint be chargedto put money on the card to use like a debit card? Was worried After seeing "purchase rate and the ongoing balance transfer rate" of 14.9%".
