  1. We too are booked for January Caribbean Cuba etc and have 15 month insurance. We are 65. With cruise worldwide cover. I really think it was a waste of money as we can’t see the cruises going ahead this winter anywhere, this will be a blow to the cruising industry and us sailors. As said b4 it a dilemma if to pay the balance when due and fight for refunds if paid.

Just seen Marella are offering £150 off UK summer sailings, guess bookings haven't been as strong as they hoped

Maybe they need to do same with September Greece cruises, were they get those pieces from I don’t know. Picked it out the sky and added 50%. Makes NCL cheap now.

  3. Can’t see you getting an answer for that for months. Who knows what the situation will be next year. We have bitten the bullet and just booked for Caribbean and Panama next January. We’re so needing a cruise now. Have a holiday booked for June in Greece from last year, fingers crossed. We need to me more positive as many here now seem to be talking in the past how things were in the old days. Onwards and upwards . Carry on cruising 😂

  4. We started and ended in Singapore Marina bay 2019 . Few nights in Singapore pre cruise taxis were very cheap. On return to Singapore all taxis charged $60 even if just down to town or airport or hotel. There were a few hawkers but very few as it’s policed well.

No problems at all with overhang and its the largest balcony we have ever had, that's the stern one, two sun loungers, two chairs and a table with still plenty of room to walk round.

Many thanks. No aft balconies available. It just I read that aft port and starboard cabins had over hang from above deck. Thanks

  6. Is there plenty of room with loungers on balcony . Is there a problem with over hang from deck above towards back of ship. I saw before that towards back on D 1 there is a overhang and others commented that u loose sun with overhang , do you know from what overhang stops .

    many thanks

Post mortem. It's perfectly understandable that there's been bad feeling about the slowness of Marella refunds. It's worth bearing in mind that TUI HQ furloughed most of it's UK staff.

On the 2nd Jan we booked a flight from Exeter to Newcastle with Flybe to join EX2's Norway/Iceland cruise on 1st Aug. As you know Flybe went bust. I'd paid for flights via credit card and put a claim in mid Jan. It's taken Barclaycard 5 months to credit me back.

Considering how cash-strapped Marella and other cruise lines are - they probably haven't done too bad a job . Could they have been better prepared? I don't think so - Covid 19 has caught everyone unawares.

Agree totally, there many more travel companies that have been even worse than TUI. We were stuck in Spain with Brittany Ferries cancelling all ferries and not wanting to refund us, took many weeks to get it, Love Holidays tried as hard as poss to not refund us for a Greek hotel booking. The one Company I can say treated us very well was British Airways, refunded us  within 7 days of cancellation.

Ello Mate had identical cabin on Explorer in the Caribbean three years ago, there is only one let down is the bed, if you or your partner has a weak bladder and you need to go to the toilet you have to climb over and fall out of bed, other wise lovely family cabin, class shower door, loads of room and lovely views over the aft of the ship,on the balcony hammock sun loungers and chairs.   PS  POMPEY are on tele tonight.

Thanks for that. On Explorer 2 deck 8 are normal balcony cabins not deluxe so as I believe it it’s a normal bed. Just fancy trying an aft cabin, not wanting one of those beds you said. Have one in Motorhome so know the downfall of those. But thanks for your reply.

Yes, big game tonight. Wish I could of been there and at Oxford on Monday. Hope to use season ticket ASAP.

Hooks in place but no hammock on very large balcony. Junior suit description is a misnomer, itis really a medium to large cabin on Deck 12. Best to have Port side for sun, and its is quiet, away from the scrum at the pool. Stern lifts go strait down to restaurants which is useful. Hope this helps. Alan

Thanks for informing us. I’m lost at getting the sun on port side , wouldn’t it depend on where your traveling and direction.
