  1. Currently on Emerald. There are no European outlets in our cabin. Only 3 US outlets. 2 by the desk and 1 where the old TV used to be.
  2. I’ve had the app and an account for a couple of years, just never used it. My kids said there is nothing to it, so I guess it’s time to try it. Thanks
  3. Thanks, I may try Uber. Have not ever tried Uber.
  4. Looking to do transfer from the ship to the airport on our own. With transfer through the cruise line always waiting for the transfer bus to fill. Thinking of a taxi for 4 people.
  5. What nights are the formal nights? We are on the Feb 1st sailing. Thanks
  6. 19.5k September 15, 2012 Butte County, California #7 Posted 2 hours ago I don't have any of the desired menus but thank you so very much for not putting an apostrophe in "menus". (Sorry, I just see that a lot here on CC and it makes me crazy.) LOL you sound like my wife, She was a school secretary
  7. We are going on Emerald Princess on Feb 1st. The cruise is a full transit, 15 days long. Looking to see menus to see if different each night or how many duplicates. Wanting to look at specialty restaurants and what nights might be best for us. Thanks Dennis
  8. We got through it eventually. Took over 2 hours for two couples. I was not aware that you could go to the port and have them do everything. Thought that check in needed to be completed ahead of time, whether the medallion was mailed to you or picked up at the port.
  9. Agree, let’s them employ fewer people. Also, in our opinion, the medallion is just a way for Princess to track you. See what you do and where on the ship you go. If I want a drink or something to eat I do not need someone to know where I am to bring it to me.
  10. Sorry if this was covered before. My wife and I are in our 70’s and not especially tech savvy. It was a horrible experience to check in on the app. It is not user friendly at all. The need to upload passports, vaccine cards and pictures is crazy. What happened to the good old days when you showed up at the cruise terminal and handed the required documents to a person. in my opinion, cruises are not any cheaper now than when they had more staff. I know other cruise lines are doing the same thing, but we are not a fan.
  11. We used Super Shuttle a few times, don’t remember the cost though. You can have a private van or shared van.
  12. My wife and I shared Voom service while on the Wonder in August. Purchased a 1device package and used it between 4 devices, 2ipads and 2 iPhones. Not ideal but it works. Naturally only 1 device can be online at a time. Used same user name and password for whatever device we were signing in with.
  13. I saw months ago that Princess was coming out with new class of ship. Construction began in September 2021 and supposed to go in service late 2023. I have not been able to find any info other than construction start, size and LNG powered ship. To me that is weird. Anyone have a site I can go to find additional info? Thanks
  14. Just returned from Wonder, 12 people with 4 balcony cabins all in a row. Each family had their own space, but we had room steward open dividers so there was one long balcony. If people wanted privacy they could close the curtains. One cabin, ours, was the gathering place for all.
  15. Got off Wonder yesterday 8/7. Here are a few quick thoughts of mine. The ship is beautiful, food in main dining room was excellent and Windjammer very good. Staff was going beyond to be helpful. Aqua theater show was amazing. on the lone sea day, ship was too overcrowded. Chair hogs were out very early and putting towels on chairs everywhere. Not enough elevators for the capacity of the ship at peak times, dinner and excursion times. if you have questions, I will try to answer. Dennis
  16. We are leaving on the Wonder tomorrow. On the app it states to complete the questionnaire on the 30th, it says it is not ready. Anyone else have an issue like this in the past? on a bright note, we had 12 negative Covid results yesterday for the Wonder sailing. Very nerve racking until all were tested.
  17. Are shorts allowed when doing the inside tour of the Vatican? I know the excursion says knees and shoulders need to be covered. I have looked at pictures of the Vatican tour and there are quite a few in shorts. Thanks
  18. There are 12 of us and some are first time cruisers. In order to have all documents ready, what is needed.
  19. We are sailing on Wonder on July 31st as well. Sounds like this might be last cruise required to have negative Covid test result in Europe. I know they have to pick a date, but why not pick a weekend when many cruises are leaving, not a Monday.
  20. In my opinion, the whole point is, stop treating cruises different than everything else. You can get Covid everywhere, amusement park, grocery store, hotel, airport, etc. on cruise everyone is vaccinated and in many cases boosted. Yes you might det Covid, but it should be mild. Covid is not going away, we need to learn to live with it. Get annual booster like people do for the flu. There are people that won’t get vaccinated, that is their choice, but there are people that don’t get the flu shot as well. We just need to get on with our life.
  21. I spoke with a supervisor, only waited 10 minutes. I reasoned that since there is precedent with Viking, Holland and Norwegian that Royal should eliminate testing immediately. He said he would pass the info up the ladder. I thanked him. Don’t know if it will do any good but at least I feel better about trying.
