  1. I've used those hot chocolate sachets, both at home and on ship, you need at least two to make a cup, three for a mug. And the most important thing about making your own, is...... There is NO Yummy cappuccino machine frothy....🀬 It's just not hot chocolate without the froth. now is it???
  2. Definitely...... I'm exhausted just thinking about all those stairs, especially carrying a full cup...😨
  3. It's good to check, I could be wrong. But you will note that, That complimentary, is linked to the coffee & soda wording. ie: Free if you pay..... buy a drink package. LOL 😁
  4. No unfortunately, that "complimentary" is free IF you get the coffee card. It was the same for the Soda Package, but it seems they have changed it, or are in the proceeds of changing it.😞
  5. Good idea, but when sitting in the Crooners Lounge and deciding it'd be nice to have a mug of hot chocolate, its a long way to go get your cocoa from the cabin, then up to Horizon for hot water & milk, & sugar, and then back down to the Crooners Lounge to enjoy it.🀣 But then again; by the time I did all that, I'd probably sit the and think, dam I needed & enjoyed that after all that exercise.πŸ™„
  6. Funny thing is I have lived there for nearly five years in the Wellington area, a place called Paraparaumu. And yes it can be very cold, but on each of my four cruises to NZ we had great weather, warm and dry. So there you go, be prepared, but relax, cold or warm, there's some wonderful scenes and warm friendly people to discover. Enjoy your trip.
  7. Yeah that's sounds right, probably was them. Thanks.
  8. In case something good comes up, except for the packing/unpacking, the crew relocate everything for you. So some of the fuss is removed. but if you happy and its no great advantage, as MMdown Under, don't be embarrass to say no. But if someone offers to up grade me from inside to a balcony, well you can guess my happy little feet, would not be still.... πŸ˜†
  9. Definitely a raincoat/windbreak especially in Wellington, bit like Melbourne there, never sure what you will get. Lived there for five years, loved it but they don't call it windy Wellington for no reason.πŸ˜ƒ
  10. Yes slightly larger by tonnage but about same size 2000 Passengers. Thinking about when I first started cruising, if you were in the know, as the ships quite often weren't sailing at full compacity. You could go up to the service desk, and see if you could score an upgrade if available. Unfortunately I was not one of the ones in the know, as the ones in the know kept it quite, for obvious reasons. When I found out, that little sign you probably remember seeing at the service desk saying, "Ship currently full compacity, No Upgrade Available", popped up. Bugger. But hopefully with more ships, the sign may disappear again. So shhh, don't let it out, just keep it in, and be one of the ones in the Know. πŸ˜†
  11. We also had one of the princess sun class ships, (Dawn,Sun,Sea) home porting out of Brisbane, and another cruise company, I can't remember which one was, and a number of others offering cruises ad hoc out off Brisbane as well. We weren't totally treated as second cousins to Sydney. But close.😁 From my point of view, the more the merrier. Hopefully that manifests more competitive prices.
  12. Hi not sure of your questionπŸ˜ƒ The Sun Class ships were approximately the same size of the Coral Princess. Assuming you are referring to the number of ships home porting Brisbane...🀨 If we get more ships base here, that might be great, if they have difficulty filling them, maybe we will see some good fare discounts.πŸ€—
  13. Yeah it is a bit annoying, but with everyone cost cutting, trying to maximise income, I don't think it was unexpected. Just dam I was looking forward to those cups of hot chocolate.😁 What that expression "C'est la vie" what will be, will be.πŸ™„
  14. Glad you guys are sorting out the booze side. BUT Has anyone seen the latest Princess Soda package promo. I got an e-mail about it, now can't find the dam thing. It excitedly explained how wonderful they had upgraded it. WELL that is a little contentious, what they have done is increase the price of the standard package from around AUD $12 to AUD $15.33, but dropped out the hot chocolate. Includes all, fountain sodas, fresh juices (if available), mocktails, and smoothies as per the menu. Notice the hot chocolate has been deleted. And now have introduced the Premium Coffee & Soda Package at AUD $29.99 per day, all specialty or premium coffees and teas, hot chocolate, fountain sodas, fresh juices (if available), Frappes at Coffee & Cones, mocktails, and smoothies as per the menu, Red Bull and Milk Shakes (if available). Bit cheeky pinching the hot chocolate, to make the new package more tempting. but thinking to make the $40 per day look really good I often had the hot chocolate when Hil had her coffee. Dam I'm a little pissed with them.😑 Typical give less, charge more, rip off.🀬
  15. Necessity is the genesis of all good inventions.πŸ˜†
  16. That was the down side of the old internet, it was only suitable for basic stuff. The new system will be a big improvement in that regard. Good idea with the drinks menu on the phone, will pinch that one.πŸ˜„
  17. Thanks, yes that's why I'm trying to get on top of what's current now, to ensure my assumptions are in the right ball park. By that way just been through your up load of drinks menu's for 2019. That was some magnificent work on your behalf.🀩 must have taken a lot of your time, I'm sure everyone that reads it is extremely grateful. I am, Thank you.
  18. Great thanks for that info. Just trying to confirm my budget estimates. Like to ensure no nasty surprises in major changes since 2018.
  19. Hi Does anyone have copies of current 2022 Princess drink menu's? Be interested what the current prices of bottles of wine, coffee cards, coffee menus, mocktails, beers, etc. Helps plan for costs on board.
  20. Actually I thought that until recently, when on another form (can't remember which), everyone confirmed it was the Waitangi dock as it has a large car parking area for marshalling the tour busses. Where Paihia dock is larger but area around is congested. So I would think they were right and it will be Waitangi.
  21. Funny enough I'm not a big fan of sweet things (wife excluded), more a savoury leaning. BUT those dam Chococobanana's, god knows I go all swoony when I sit down for one of those, after a long day ashore.πŸ₯΄
  22. Thanks Julie Yes my wife likes the teas, I'm not a coffee drinker, but do love my mocktails😬
